Rating: Summary: The mediocre Chronicles takes a turn for the worse Review: The Chronicles of the cursed sword since the beginning has never been a knockout, life changing series, at best chronicles of the cursed sword were enertaining, and boasted not only a good plot but it boasts some great character designs and while not the best artwork out there it is well good looking for the most part. In the first of the three books the plot really developed from a simple premise of a one plot story in book one and by book 3 had a more layered plot. However with the release of the fourth volume the chronicles throws all that development right out the window. The Chroinclesof the cursed sword have always while they have a serious tone and atmosphere have tried miserably to add a bit of comedy into the story, while comedy can be good in serious stories it fails miserably here as the comedy is always inserted into the worst possible of segments. This volume takes this bad comedic timing to a whole new level, as the serious tone is wiped away and the story becomes nothing but horrible comedy. In this volume that ridiculously cliched martial arts master chen Kaihu begins teaching Rey yan how to master his sword better, and in the beginning, the story is good but as it progresses it degenerates. When Chen's long lost love shows up and he begins to fight for her love, the series goes for a turn for the worst. There are very few who can sucessfully execute a serious mood while in a scene such as this and beop-ryung yeo does horrendously while handling this. He could have pulled this off if only he had refrained from putting corny one-liners and pointless physical gags in. That is the mistake that he made and this series pays dearly for that mistake. So in closing I urge you to go spend your money else where in a another series more deserving your money
