Rating: 5 stars
Summary: decent read!
Review: Well, I don't know much about cars, but I could follow it. And I enjoyed it. If the Japanese translations were off, I didn't notice. It was a good read even if you haven't watched the anime, (which I haven't).

There _was_ one kind of shocking picture in it. But I guess that's what I get for reading an "Older Teen" rated shonen manga, when I'm a girl.

Hey, I didn't see the rating until too late! (Also, this might have been an earlier version -- I saw one at the store where the rating was only "T".)

Even though I'm not particularly taken with cars or car racing, I enjoyed this. It had enough stuff to keep me guessing.

By the way, this is Volume 1 I'm reviewing; I don't know about the later volumes. I thought the characters were interesting.

Summary: whats the big deal
Review: What I don't get is the people who think they know what everyone wants. I just picked up a copy of Initial D and I found it to be very good. As far as translation I would know nothing on how the original japanese version was written. Why? Because I don't read Japanese, if you can good for you, if you can't there is Tokyo Pop. I personnel get all the guy related manga that they release. I was hesitant on picking up Initial D, but when I did, I enjoyed it. I am going to pick up the second when it comes out. This is a book for anyone who enjoys reading manga for entertainment/enjoyment or whatever you buy manga for. Tokyo Pop I think does an excellent job in producing quality manga. Who cares if they change the names in the second book, better in the second than in the 5 or 6 when you already related faces with names. And why would anybody rate a book on name changes or the translation of the text? When you rate an item it is on the content of the book. Did the book have a good sense of direction, was the story line good enough for you to keep reading. Stuff like that. So for anyone who enjoys reading manga, especially about cars and stuff youll certainly enjoy this manga!!
