Summary: yay for shounen ai~
Review: While I was overjoyed to find that companies are now publishing boyxboy content, I found that it was a bit too shonen-ai for my taste. Especially since I was hoping it would end up a little bit more on the yaoi side of things. But overall it was a cute comedy, a bit dissapointing in the final volume more due to the seme/uke roles rather than the story itself.
I don't regret buying it though, It gives me something fluffy to read every once in awhile. So if you love shonen-ai this probably will be your cup of tea...however, if you like yaoi it most likely will leave you unfulfilled-- "You are my love prize in viewfinder" anyone?

Review: ... not at all. having more "hardcore" tastes, i don't usually go for the shonen ai, especially when hearing that the sexualities of the charcaters aren't too clear. but overjoyed that there was another shonen ai release in *english* i brushed my worries aside and found that eerie queerie is a fun, interesting series that without a doubt has yaoi undertones. the character designs are lovely and the bishounen qualities are not put to waste on characters that barely interact. what makes eerie queerie a good read for yaoi/shonen-ai fans is the definate sexual tension between the main characters, that only heightens with a certain dream. the *possibility* that the series could get expilicit is very nice and it builds when vol.2 introduces a wayward priest (what do you you mean, you kept me warm?). the plot never lags and gets dramatic and ridiculous to a point that only entertains. the stories behind the ghosts add to the strength to the plot. the ghosts themselves add another comedic element (the other one being the main predicament itself) eventhough they may have tragic stories. funny, a mix of naughty and nice, eerie queerie is excellent.

Review: Although I really wish the original japanese title would have been kept,(this title is rather,um,blatant) Eerie Queerie! is a very nice intro for any newcomer to the whole shounen-ai/yaoi sector of anime or manga.Some may find the massive amount of subtexts and cultural references (...) a bit confusing, but overall the story is simple,fun,and emotional. I actually teared up a bit at some sections.There is much humor and much lessons-learning throughout, wrapped up with a very cute bonus manga! And even though it can be both a blessing and a curse, EQ! is only a 6 book run, so it won't break your bank to get hooked and buy the entire series.

Review: And boy is he being plagued by them but that's okay! This story a subtlties of shounen-ai, which any fangirl will sure to love! I did, and I'm waiting so I can by the next one...I've been buying too many manga...So much that I have to look for DVD to sell... Great manga!

Summary: Eerie Queerie at a glance
Review: At first glance of the cover it looked like Eerie Queerie was just a manga version of the cast from the show "Queer Eye For the Straight Guy". So of course it all ready seemed intriguing. What's not to love about yoai boys?! After reading the brief over view of the back the book it is not exactly as it first seemed. It is so much better; it invokes all the curiosities of school life, spirits, love, hope, and much more. Shiozu-san definitely knew she was going to win the readers over.
I give this book four stars. It is guaranteed Eerie Queerie cannot be put down. If you like probable yoai, romance, and the misfit finding friends, you'll love Eerie Queerie. The only problem with Eerie Queerie is that it is so captivating that the waiting until the next book comes out seems like forever.

Summary: Eerie Queerie is a delight!
Review: Eerie Queerie, or Ghost, is simply an adorable manga. The plot is fairly simple, but good: Mitsuo, a friendless high school student, can communicate with ghosts. Not only that, the ghosts are able to take over his body at will. With help from his "friend" Hasunuma (a "friend" who delights in embracing and some sexuality-questioning kisses), Mitsuo helps these ghosts to wrap up their regrets and move on. With cute and awkward moments off-set by serious discussions about loneliness, regret, life, and death, this is definitely a "must have" manga. Not to mention the art's adorable.

Steamy scenes: None. This is Shonen-ai, not YAOI. But there are 2 or 3 friendly hugs & kisses on the cheek; very sweetly presented.
Did it keep my attention? Yes!
Ghosts, charms and boy's romance. If you are new to the BL (boys love/shonen-ai) genre, I believe this is for you. Nothing at all explicit in ANY of the 4 volumes (which totally disappointed me by the way, having more 'adult'/YAOI preferences (eg. Rub-in Love, Kizuna...), expecially when volume 4 promised explicit content on the cover and then failed to deliver!
This 4 volume series is cute & sweet, with Hasunuma always on the lookout to protect Mitsuo in their quest to put earth-bound spirits to rest. Mitsuo can see ghosts, and tries to help them. His best friend Hasunuma tries to keep him out of trouble... and grab a friendly hug or little kiss when he can! The feel of the story is light with situations that will make you cringe at one moment and laughing at the next (being very thankful it's not happening to you). There are also a few almost-scary parts, and some suspense. Overall, the plot is simple and easy to follow. The artwork is pretty enough (Hasunuma is very attractive, and Mitsuo is cute), but sometimes it is difficult to tell characters apart.
I believe that this volume (#1) is a good indication of what the rest of the series is like; so if you like the first one, I believe you'll like them all.
Overall, an amusing and entertaining read.

Summary: Eerily Addictive
Review: I have to admit that I wasn't very excited about the synopsis. The story seemed rather cheesy, but once I started reading, I couldn't put the book down. If you share Manga interests with me (Gravitation, Pet Shop of Horrors, Fake) you are going to love Eerie Queerie! The humor can be both blatant and subtle, but always well done. The characters are suprisingly well developed in a short period of time, and you really start to feel for poor Mitsuo as his body is used (most often against his will) by girls to get good with the people they've left behind. What makes it even more unique, and thouroughly confuses his classmates, is that he isn't gay, but is always being possessed by girls who make no effort to tone it down while in his bod. The idea behind it is CLASSIC! Check this one out!

Summary: Never trust the blurb....
Review: I knew about this manga for some time now, but avoided it because of how stupid the summaries sounded. But I read the sneakpeak in the tokyopop sampler and found out how funny, cute, and intelligent it really was. book 3 is typical eerie queerie supernatural comedy, with plenty of yaoi innuendo- which is a great thing. (Not that you have to like shonen ai to enjoy it- many of the scenarios are hilarious.) I don't mind the gender switch like the other reviewer, because what can you do when the english language has no neutral pronouns? The guy did look very pretty. (and exactly like Sai.)
Basically, there are 3 stories. The first, "Stray Cats" is about a newcomer, Itsuki, who tries to help out at the shrine, to make some money- but he is followed by a silent friend trying to get his attention. Mitsuo and the others try to first figure out what thier relationship is, and then improve it because Itsuki is so indifferent.
The second is "Lucky Boys at Dawn", where Mitsuo attempts to complete a commission as a psychic. The unusual Sanjaya family joins the cast as his employer. A particularly difficult spirit puts everyone in danger, and without the spiritual experience of Mikuni (who had a strange accident), Mitsuo is desperate.
Lastly, "Sweet Festival" is an essentially cute story about Valentines day, where Mitsuo is worried about not getting any chocolates from girls. (Hasunuma and Ichi are more worried about Mitsuo) The crazy student council complicates things by taking over Mitsuo's meeting with the girl who left him a lovenote in his locker.
The illustrations are adorable, and there are more little sidenotes then there usually are in manga. (Which just makes it funnier) Trust me, its the most exceptional manga I've ever read, and I'm extremely glad it. (There's only 4 volumes, so why not?) Get it.

Summary: eerie? not quite,but terribly addictive!
Review: If you like shounen-ai/yaoi, you'll love this book! Mitsuo, the main character, is a loner who can see & communicate w/ ghosts. Of course, these spirits take advantage of him & use his body without so much as a by-your-leave. The catch? The spirits are FEMALE! -- which, as you can imagine, puts our hero in veeery awkward situations! The art is simple but cute (if you like Fruitsbasket's charcter designs, you'll probably like this as well). This volume is filled with laugh-out-loud humor and touching moments as well. The relationship that develops between Mitsuo & Hasunuma is really sweet and worth checking out.
