Summary: Not bad but nothing special. A good waste of time.
Review: When I first heard about this book and went on to read the reviews here, I thought I had finaly found the book I had been looking for. For a while I had wanted to read a good books about teens in the 90's. I had wanted a book that was realistic, explicit, containing much character developement. I had wanted something that portrayed how teen life, High School life, really was in the 90's. This book doesn't quite work for a number of reasons. It's not explicit (No swearing, where's the drugs? Smoking? Alcohol?), the stories, for the most part, aren't very interesting at all (You can hear more interesting things from gossip in my school) and the stories just seem too manufactured(Why do I get a feeling that some of the stories were cut up/butchered to be shorter and nicer?). There are a few stories with good potential, but there's no description, no character developement, why should I care about these people? This book really makes you appreciate an author who can really write and captive you, evoke real, raw emotions. The more I think about it the more I realise that this book, for the most part, provides a false image of how teen life really is these days (Columbine). And where's the multiculturalism in this book? All the names make me think that the characters are probably Christian Anglosaxons, not that I really mind, just something I noticed. I suppose the best books about a certain era are writen very much after the event takes place, unfortunately, that seems to be the case with this topic. Hopefully, one day a real book will come along that will blow this book out of the water. I just can't figure out why this book is so popular. All the fluffy feelings and fabricated stories almost made me want to throw up and/or fall asleep.

Summary: To the fans: don't send me hate mail for not glorifying this
Review: All right. I feel a little guilty for only giving this book 1 star, but they wouldn't let me give it one and a half, and I don't quite believe it's worth two. I received this book as a gift - it's not really something I would've picked out. Perhaps I shouldn't even write a review for it, but I'm going to do so anyway. I admit, it's a very heartwarming book, and the message is a good one. I suppose it's uplifting, and all in all, it's pretty positive. The real problem I have with this book is that most of the stories (with some exceptions, of course) are a bit contrived. There are a few truly touching ones, and a couple of sincere slice-of-life types, but most seem a little artificial. I don't know, maybe it's just me, but my life doesn't suck enough for me to really connect with most of the stories. They all seem a bit . . . well, I think they seem too manufactured, to tell the truth. There's something a little unsettling about turning heartbreaking experiences into millions of dollars of profits. I know the stories were sent in voluntarily, but still - it all seems so exploitive. I think that's what I really dislike about this book - as I'm reading it, I can't quite shake the insidious thought that this compilation is nothing more than a capitalistic venture.

Summary: Chicken soup for the teenage soul
Review: I liked the book Chicken soup for the teenage soul because it had a lot of interesting stories that I could relate to. The type of stories that are in it are on love, learning, logic just things anyone and everyone can relate to. They have happy, sad, interesting, not interesting. Stuff like that. I would recommend it to mostly teens.

Summary: Different ingredients for Teens
Review: I liked this book because it gave me confidence for my troubles. I thought i had a hard life but when I read these heartbreaking stories i learn to except what i have in life. This book is many different stories about problems and how life really is. It also has some tear jerkers. A few of these stories relate to what you may or maynot have. I think that teens should read this book to see what other teens live their stories and lives.

Review: Andrew Frits 3-13-01 Editorial review

Chicken Soup for the Teenage soul by Jack Canfield, book has a bunch of little stories in it. I like the book because the stories are true in it and they can help in real life. It talks about how you should be nice to other people so you don't hurt them and maybe kill their selves, or they might kill other people. It talks about how you should be nice parents because they like you more than you think you would know. There is a story in there that talks about how a girl was always picked on and she never talked and doesn't have very many friends. On Christmas night when her parents went out to a party she wrote a letter that told her parents that she was going kill her self and where it was. When she went outside to put it in the mail box there was a letter to her that was from a boy from her church that was going though the same problems she was and how he felt the same way she did. She didn't go kill herself and she went in her house and called him and they talked. I would recommend teenagers should buy this book or read it. It only cost $7.77 so go buy this book it's a good book.

Summary: This is a great book!
Review: This was a great book! I liked how they used all the stories by kids instead of making up stories. It was also a great book because I think that it would help a lot of young kids get through tough situations. So if you haven't read this book you should it could change the way you think.

Summary: Chciken Soup For The Teenage Soul
Review: I think this book is exceptionally excellent. It gives you an idea of how to handle some real life situations. My favorite section of the book is on Relationships.Considering that I am soon to be a teenager, I like the fact of knowing that if something happens to me that is an embarrassment in one of my relationships, I know that I am not the only one this has happend too. My favorite story in the Relationships part of the book is,"A REAL KISS,AND THEN SOME." When I read this story Icould not help it but to laugh out in class. How could you just walk up and kiss somebody that you haven't seen for years without checking out if they are married or not. Here are some of the reasons i like the book, now you tell me why you liked it and i will take a look!

Summary: Chicken Soup for Teenagers I
Review: I bought this book right before I graduated from high school and devoured it. I was so glad that they had finally written a Chicken Soup for my age group. It is now four years later and I am nearing my college graduation. Now, my book is a little more loved and tattered, even with a few pages falling out, but I still refer to it often (even though I have tons of it memorized). It still offers me the inspiration and quotes I need to match my mood; there are poems that still bring me to tears. I would highly recommend this for any teenager or college student!

Summary: Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul
Review: I realy like this book. The stories are realy touching. If you are a cat or dog lover I would read it. Lots of the stories are sad but they teach you good lessons. I realy enjoyed this book and I think you would too. I got sad when a pet or person died, but they became some of my favorite stories.
