Summary: Katie.edu
Review: Katie.com is a story of a teen named Katherine Tarbox going through true hardship. With swim meets everyday, no friends, and workaholic parents, Katie had no one to share her deepest thoughts and feelings with. However, "Mark" her 23-year-old online buddy was some how able to penetrate her mind, and understood her situation that everyone else didn't seem to notice. Katie discovers who "Mark" really is, and his intentions, one night in his hotel room. This autobiography depicts her life before and after her encounter with "Mark", her so-called soul mate. Katie.com is a book for anyone who has had a tragic online experience, anyone who thinks they want to meet their "buddy" in a hotel room, or anyone who has time on their hands. Although it starts to slow down toward the end, this book will make you think twice before you go meet your chat-room acquaintances. This story will educate you, whether you want it to or not.

Summary: Be Careful of Who You Trust
Review: When Katie Tarbox decided to chat with a stranger online, she did not realize the dangers. Katie met a 23 year old man named Mark, who seemed to love and care for her unlike any other guy had. Only after chatting and talking to Mark on the phone, Katie began to put her trust in Mark and even shared all of her problems with him, not knowing that he too was a big problem.
Things changed when Katie met Mark in person. Katie agreed to meet Mark in the hotel they were staying in for her away swim meet. When Katie got to Mark's room she soon realized that Mark was not who she thought he was. He was a 41 year old man who was a pedophile that ended up molesting her. When Katie returned back to her home town, people had found out what had happened, and the rumors began. Katie felt that everyone had turned on her. Both her family and friends.
Katie. com is a book that should be read by children and adults to alert them of the dangers on the internet. It teaches that your parents will always be there to trust in, but the stranger is not always trustworthy.

Summary: Internet predator on the lose
Review: This is my review on Katie.com by Katherine Tarbox. 13-year-old Katherine Tarbox meets 23-year-old Mark on the internet. Katie thinks that Mark is an excellent swimmer, good student in school, good-looking, etc. But one night mark called Katie and convinces her that he should go to her swim meet.
I really liked this book. It taught me about all the dangers that we have on the internet. So if you ever meet somebody you don't know on the internet just use one of your BLOCK icons and he or she can't bug you any more. I think kids who are 12 and older should read this book
Thank you for reading my review. I hoped you enjoyed it. So read this book today. I gave this book 4 stars ****.

Summary: My Katie.com review
Review: Katie.com was a great book. I liked it because it explained so much of how her life was when this tragedy happened. This book is about a girl, Katherine Tarbox, who has just a regular everyday life. But, when her sister comes over, she brings her laptop along with her. Since Katie didn't have a computer, she explored the Internet. Then she finds a chat room and she starts looking for someone just like her. When Katie does finally meet "The Guy," she keeps it a secret. Mark, 'The Guy," desperately wants to meet her and visa versa. They finally meet at her swim meet and she goes to his hotel room. When they meet face-to-face it's really not what she expects. It is a very surprising book. I think that anyone, boy or girl, should read this book.

Review: Katie.com by Katherine Tarbox was a great book to read. I would recommend it to ages 12 and up. I liked Katie.com because it tells about her life and how dangerous life's paths are. This book is very dramatic and interesting. It is a book that will have you hooked.
Katie.com is about a 14-year-old girl who talks on the Internet and meets a man named "Mark" who says he is 23 years old. Katie and Mark talk for over several months and finally decide to meet in person. And after what happens she talked a lot about how she regretted her decision and had to live with two years of problems because of it.
I loved this book and it was fun to read. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a book with dramatic, interest, tough decisions, regret, denial and mush more.

Summary: "THE INCEDENT"
Review: This is the best book that I have read in a long time. It is a dramatic book because she falls apart and cries a lot after "THE INSEDENT". But young kids should not read this because it may not be appropriate. But it does teach everybody who reads this a lesson. It taught me that you couldn't always trust people on the Internet and to never go behind your parents back with this kind of stuff.

Summary: Heather's Bookreview
Review: Katie. Com, written by the main character, Katherine Tarbox, is an autobiography about a typical, average 13 year old girl trying to find herself in between all of the high school pressures, trying to please everyone by swimming and being on the swim team which is something that her family expects from her even if she doesn't really like it and trying to fit into the society around her including her home town, New Canaan, Connecticut. New Canaan, Connecticut, is made up of very superficial, wealthy, successful people.
In this story Katie Tarbox is a 13-year-old girl born into a small family. Her mother and Stepfather are both workaholics even at home. They are always busy or distracted. ' I wanted adults to be perfect'when you realize that they are not perfect you start to loose faith.' Carrie, who is Katie's older sister is in college but comes up every now and then during breaks, Then there is Abby who is the youngest out of them all. Katie's biological father left his family when Katie was very very young.
One weekend Carrie comes home for the weekend from college. She brings a laptop with her that has a very popular chat program on it called AOL . All summer Katie tried to find someone just like her, spending hours at a time online in chat rooms. ' Entering a chat room was like entering a party, where you don't know anyone.'
One day after school and swimming practice, Katie logs into a chat room. VallleyGuy instant messages her. He tells her he is 23 and happens to like the same things Katie does; music, clothes and fashion etc. To Katie, VallleyGuy seems very nice and seemed to want to get to know more about her. He actually seemed interested in getting to know her. 'Our little IM talks were a lot like one of those get-to- know-you chats on the Internet.' The age difference never really bothered Katie because someone actually accepted her and liked her for her not just based upon looks. She ignored the age difference. Sometimes while talking to him online he would say things that would concern Katie to make her think that this friendship that had been establishing might not work.' I want to ask you a question Katie' Are you a virgin?' One day Katie was sick and hadn't been online or emailing Mark. As she starts to feel better she goes to check her email and mark has left a message being rather rude as to why she hasn't been online or emailing him. ''I was upset with him for not understanding why checking email wasn't my biggest concern while vomiting all day.' This would make Katie very skeptical but then as soon as she went back to talk with him again he sucked her in with his sweet charm. As time went on Katie felt that she loved this man and he has been telling her that he loved her too. They have built a strong long distance relationship together.
One night on the phone Katie tells Mark that she has to go to Texas for a National swim meet there. He wants to come and see her by meeting her at the same hotel. They decide on what time to be expecting each other. After mark got there, Katie, knocking on that hotel room door, was very surprised as to what happened next. This was not the man she loved and had spent hours with on the phone and online. This was someone different, someone mean and old! This was not what she expected!
Now Katie must learn to accept the consequences and the disappointment she led everyone too. Her mother feels as though she had been betrayed and Katie is so caught up in all this chaos she's not really sure what to do!
I feel that this book is written for younger girls with the same want to belong and be accepted by people as Katie did. I feel that the reader can easily relate to the Author and Katie's story. I feel this book has a very good moral to it and I am sure young girls will learn form Katie's mistakes. Katie's writing makes the reader feel the emotion and feeling she was experiencing at the time. She makes a very good visual picture while writing that relates to the readers. This book is made so that young readers can realize the message written into the context of the book.
