Rating: Summary: My summary is on Anne Frank the diary of a young girl. Review: I really liked the book. It was sad because in the end Anne died, but I really felt a lot of feeling in it. I felt really felt sad for her because she coundn't live a normal life. She had to stay in the annex for twenty-five months. The book made me build up a lot saddness for her and her family. I gave the book a ten because I felt it was the least I could do for Anne for what she had to go through.
Rating: Summary: The book was very good, sad, and touching! Review: This book starts as Anne at the age of 14. She recieves a diary for her birthday. She names this diary Kitty. She shares her most secret thoughts with it. During World War II the Frank's are forced to go into hiding. They live in Anne's dad's office building. They have the door hidden as a bookself. They reffer to this hidding place as the "secret annex". They have other people living with them. As she spend more and more time sitting by herself she spends less and less time living her live. She begins to have feelings for Peter Van Daan. He is living in the annex with them. They talk, share sercets, and regrets. As the end of the war gets nearer, they are forced not to move, breathe or go to the bathroom so they don't get caught. Someone told the officals of Germany that their were people hidding in the "secret annex". The officals find them and take them to camps. All the people in the Franks family die, but Otto (her dad) lives. When Otto goes back to the annex to gather his belongings that are their, he stumbles upon Anne's dairy. He decides to publish only peices of it. About 30 years later he is persuded to publish the whole thing. I think this book was very interesting, sad, and it makes you think. When Anne tells us what her culture had to go through it makes us think, what if that happens again. If that were to happen again it would show that the wolrd has learned nothing from the Jews and Hitler. Hitler killed many jews. This book and other books published about the Holocuast. This is my opinion on the book Anne Frank the diary of a young girl.
Rating: Summary: OK Review: Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl is an Autobiography of a young girl who tells of the time during the Holocaust. Anne writes in a diary that she calls Kitty. She tells of all the encounters she faces during the time she hides from the Nazis. They must be quiet while in their secret annexe to remain hidden. I enjoyed that this was a true story but I thought it was long and tedious. I think people who like history would enjoy this book. I do not think young children would have the patience to read this book. I thought this book was OK.
Rating: Summary: An inspirational book about a young girl in World War II. Review: Anne Frank is a young Jewish girl living in Amsterdam at the time of World War II and the Holocaust. Anne and her whole family go into hiding with the Van Daan's and Mr. Dussel. She must leave eveything behind and can not say goodbye to any one not even her cat. They hide in an area attached to Mr. Franks old office building which has come to be known as The Secret Annexe. Anne was not allowed to leave the Annexe the whole time she was there, which was very hard for her because she loved the outdoors. She amused herself in such ways as writing to her diary Kitty, gymnastics, and reading. Anne becomes closer to her family, the Van Daans and Mr. Dussel. This book is about Anne's life in hiding, disscusions that occur and her struggles to survive. During the day she must keep quiet because if the people that are working in the office heard them then they might be caught. Anne also tells Kitty about the brave people that risk their lives to save her and her family. This book deals with the will to survive under terrible conditions.
Rating: Summary: Touching Review: I am 12 and in the 6th grade and would like to say that if you are doing a report on it like i did you should not just say something like,"Anne died at age 15 in a concentration camp." You should talk about the sad details like it was only 2 months before the war ended and she almost made," or something that makes you think. This book was great because it was told by Anne herself. She did not know that it would be shared so she didn't leave out anything. It is the best story that I have read so far about the holocaust.
Rating: Summary: An everlasting memory of the cruelty of World war II. Review: The year is 1942. The month, June. A Jewish girl sits in her room doing her homework. A report comes in that her sister is going to be picked up by the German Nazis. The family leaves in a hurry, to go into hiding. Her life is transformed. No more going outside, playing with her friends, anything to do with the life she is used to. She sees only her family, the Van Daans, and Mr. Dussel. Her only true friend, her diary. Anne Frank is the girl. Like many other Jews in Holland, she went into hiding with her family. Yet that amount in hiding was not enough to save the many Jews in Holland. In her"Secrtet Annex," Anne Frank hid with herfather, Pim, her "mumsie" And her sister Margot. Along with them hide the flirtatious Mrs.Van Daan, Mr. Van Daan, and the only boy she would ever fall in love with, Peter. The book, Anne Frank, The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank herself, was her diary, an everlasting memory of the cruelty of World War II.
Rating: Summary: Life in the Secret Annex. Review: I knew what was going to happen when I sat down to read it. Every kid knows going to happen at the end. Its just one of those books you have to read. Even though its diturbing and serious, it is a great book. The book is quick to read, because go its esy vocabulary, and uncomplicated sentenceses. Anne tries to tell her thoughts to someone andin the process writes a book. She also shows you what life would be like if you were a 14 year old girl in hidding , like a prisoner. While you read you can really picture the people in your head even without the photograph. Though you might be twrone off by all the niave and ig you were to compare her to a 14 year old girl now they would be very different. I hope you enjoy the diary form and as much as I did.
