Summary: This was a very moving book.
Review: Anne Frank was a very talented girl living in hard times. It is wonderful that such a girl would have lived in those times. I, as an adolescent, and subsequently a 13-year-old, can totally relate to her miseries. She is my hero!! Anne Frank, you rule.

Summary: Amazing, but Sad :(
Review: Anne Frank. Poor girl. This is a true story that takes place in World War II. But if you cry easy, skip the end. I hated Hitler and his Nazis before this, but when you read the diary, and see how it actully FEELS to be a Jew in hiding, you'll hate the Nazis even more. This book is sad, but a good read.

Summary: Life is boring !
Review: If you dont have a life then I suggest you rush to your local book store and buy this book but if not then read a book like "Wizards First Rule" cause this book put me to sleep. The diary entries were good and well if you read someone's diary you would also find it boring. But the way she wrote it was just Outstanding. Its sad but to tell you the truth I dont feel sorry for her if you wanna see/know about the Holocaust then go to Blockbuster and rent "Shindlers List" the movie is like non other. I am giving this 5*****'s because I did like the way she wrote her entries.

Summary: A masterful audio presentation -- complete, real, moving
Review: If you read the DIARY OF A YOUNG GIRL, as I did, you may not be prepared for how moving this audio presentation is. Winona Ryder brings Anne to life in all her bravery and contradictions. Hearing a young girl's voice discuss the aches of growing up makes Anne seem even more like "every girl" (albeit an enormously gifted "every girl") and this makes the fate of all those poor Jewish girls more poignant, more tragic. What we lost!

Summary: Anne's diary is a very strong and powerful piece of lit.
Review: The diary of Anne Frank expresses her true feelings about the Holocaust,WW2,&the Nazis. I really enjoyed reading her diary. I would also like to find out more about the 11 lost diary pages that were said to be token out of the diary by her father.

Summary: A young girl speaks for a lost generation
Review: Anne Frank died a few weeks before the concentration camp she was in was liberated by the Allies. But, she is immortal as she had wished - through her writing. Not a precocious child's view of the world, but the girl's interrupted journey to womanhood, a journey speeded up and twisted by a strange kind of prison - hiding herself from the Nazis and her identity from everyone but us, her readers. To us, she has been more than generous.

The bitter irony of this beautiful book (beautiful not for only for its writing but also for the poignacy of what it promised from its doomed author)is that the central act of the book, the betrayal of Anne and the others in the Annex, is not a part of the narrative but instead forms a crystallizing epilogue. And even more ironic, had the betrayal not occurred, the Annex would remain undiscovered, the diary would carry on until filled and hidden away from the world, and the Holocaust would have lost its most elegant and human voice. But then, we would still have Anne the author, alive and still writing. A terrible price to pay.

But as I said, she lives forever in the book. Be kind to yourself and meet this remarkable young woman.

Summary: Listening to the audio tapes I felt the fear than Anne felt.
Review: Winona Ryder was exceptional as she read Anne Frank's diary entries. With her youthful, clear voice, I felt as though it was Anne, herself, reading her diary to me. I would absolutely recommend "Diary of a Young Girl: The Definitive Edition" on audio tape.

Summary: I have no words.
Review: I almost literally have no words to describe this diary. this isn't just any book. It is real. This is actually someone's diary. everything in it actually happened. You get to step into the position of someone who was there. IT ISN'T FICTION, AND IT SHOULDN'T BE REVIEWED AS A FICTITIOUS BOOK, OR READ AS ONE. It represents everything.

Summary: One of the best
Review: This book is one of the ten best books I have ever read. Everyone should read this book. This book is about a young mind coming into existence. It is about a mind exploring and coming to know of it's self-awareness. In my opinion, anyone who reads this book and doesn't "get it" is just subhuman -- they are not fully aware of what it means to be alive.

Summary: Anne's book has changed my life forever
Review: I did not read Anne's diary until I was 35 years old. I was not expecting much. After all, what on earth could a 14-year old write that would be of any interest to me? I was ridiculously wrong. I will forever look at young people differently.

All my life I have been haunted and filled with despair by the visions of the Holocaust, to which I attribute a great deal of my misanthropy.

Today, August 8th, 1998 I finished Anne's diary, and I will never be the same. Paradoxically, it took a product of the Holocaust, Anne's diary, as well as her death in a Nazi concentration camp, for this to happen.

Anne has been immortalized by her diary. Her wish to become a writer of importance has come true, probably beyond her wildest dreams. Congratulations, Anne!

Anne Frank, I hope that you still exist somewhere in this universe. And I wish that you are experiencing that profound love that you once dreamed and wrote about.

Anne, I love you.
