Rating: Summary: An excellent primary source of history Review: I'm a big history buff, and by the time I read Anne Frank's diary when I was in tenth grade I'd already devoured several dozen books dealing with the Second World War. I had all the historical background in my head, and it was really fun reading Anne's accounts of the events which I was already quite familiar with. I strongly recommend her diary for anyone interested in World War Two or the Holocaust because it is an exceptionally brilliant and moving first-hand, primary source for learning about one of the darkest chapters in world history.
Rating: Summary: She is amazing brave lady. Review: The book Anne Frank is so sad. She is amazing lady because she fight over all her problems alone. She long for love of her family but no one thinks that she need love because she is very talkative and hyper all the time. She never shows her inner self so no one understands her.
Rating: Summary: Great. Inspirational Review: I read this book in the 6th grade because I have always been compelled to read about history. I thought it was a good book but I didn't understand it fully. I then had to read it again in seventh grade and was really able to understand all the turmoil that Anne had to go through in her day to day life. I was also very inspired to pass this book on tho others because not only does it speak of a hero but it teaches that life can be lived to its fullest, even in the worst of situations. I am very toughed by this young woman and recomend it to all people over the age of 11 or so. It is a truly facinating book. :o)
Rating: Summary: All-consuming Review: With her diary, Anne takes us into her life in hiding, with all the honesty of someone who never really imagines that their private thoughts will ever be read by someone other than herself. I have studied the persecution of the Jews for many years and nothing has brought it more to light for me until this. Anne tells us the raw events of her life - of having to sit and not make any noice for hours on end, and of having to go to the bathroom in a bucket after everyone else has used it, and then have it sit in the room with them. And also she tells us about her first kiss, her dislike of her mother, of that time in everyone's life when we begin to become independent from our family. The amazing thing is that she was able to show us that she was a kid, one that wanted to laugh, to play, to fight, to love, all during the most heart wrenching time in our modern history.
Rating: Summary: This book is extremly moving. It brought out many emotions. Review: This book was extremly moving. It brought out many emotions. You actually lose yourself in it feeling this young girls pain. I read it for history and normally i wouldn't pay attention but it's not a book like that it teaches but you don't feel like it.
Rating: Summary: She was a girl that likes to tell her business to her friend Review: I reviewed that she was a little girl that likes to tell her friends her business.
Rating: Summary: This book is wonderful!! Review: This book is a compeling story of young girl who goes into hiding in the midst of World War 2. She explanes the daily difficulties of hiding in a cramped attic, with only three rooms for the eight of them, and the intamacy of her first kiss. I like this book because it is a look into a young girls life. She shared her most private thoughts with a diary called "Kitty."
Rating: Summary: Okay Review: It is a good book but it is a tad boring to me. Not yet finished with it but, so far okay. Thanks, EFB Hiek
Rating: Summary: This is a very good book.... Review: My name is Macey Rhiannon Price. I just read this book for my Emerge teacher, Mrs. Tracie Farr. This book was very emotional to me. The reason for this is because I am a very emotional person when it comes to people having to face hunger, boredom, and not even being to step outside for a fresh breeze of air. It also makes me think about how bad those people had it back in those days. I just hope that we do not ever go through such a thing again. Anne Frank was fearing death just because she was a Jew. Everyone is equal and no one should be disliked just because they are of a different race than someone else. So I do recommend you read this book and get a better understanding than what I just told you because you may take it a different way.
Rating: Summary: A book for all ages. Review: This book is wonderful, it is also very tragic. Anne Frank describes the hardships of liveing in three cramped rooms with eight people. She also talks about her resentment to her mother, and how she adores her father. Anne also decribes the intemency of her first kiss. This book is a wonderful story for all people alike.
