Rating: Summary: Worth reading Review: The Definitive edition presents a more broader picture of what happened to Anne & family during the hiding. Most of the things presented in the definitive edition are cut in other versions of the diary. Its imperative that at her age anne was more mentally mature than most others. The struggle against her own inner self and revolting character are clearly reflected in her writings. The book also has some good pictures of the people who survived the holocaust for a couple more years.
Rating: Summary: Moving Review: When I first read this book, I felt like crying in the end. Whenever I read the book now, the entire scence comes in front of my eyes. This book prompted me to see the movie on Anne too! This book doesn't necessarily say that Anne was the only girl who suffered oppression under the Nazi rule. It gives a clear picture of what transpired in the Netherlands when the Germans tried to wipe out the jews and their supporters from the face of this earth. A must read for someone who is interested in WW and its aftermath.
Rating: Summary: Anne Frank Review: Anne Frank The Siary of a Young Girl was the actual diary of a girl named Anne Frank, who lived during the Holocaust. She lived in a "Secret Annex".She lived there for two and a half years, before they were caught.I recommend this book because it gives a powerful insight in a girl's life, during a tragic time.
Rating: Summary: "classic"? Review: So many teenage reviewers thought this book 'well-written', 'a masterpiace', 'a must-read'. The whole point of this diary's publication was to show the world that every person killed by the nazis had a personality, a family, and was just like you. Therefore, this book is about a 13-year-old jewish girl growing up in hiding. It does not concern the holocaust as the hype says. So, unless you want to read about a young girl's day-to-day life, look elsewhere.
Rating: Summary: You MUST read this book! Review: This is was one of the best books I have ever read! This book was about a teenage girl who was killed by the Nazis' during the Holocaust. This book was inspirational and moving. It told the horrors of living in hiding from the Gestapo from an inside point of view. It had a very powerful message. I think she was very brave. I don't think that I could live for 2 years in an attic, never seeing the outside world and not having privicy. I could relate to alot of her thoughts and feelings. She got what she wanted most, to be a writer. This book was interesting and sad. I recommend this book to people who are interested in the Holocaust.
Rating: Summary: Hurry...hurry, this cannot wait Review: "The Diary of Anne Frank" was an excellent book! The emotion was so over-whelming and incredible that it almost put me into tears. The book told you all the details of what it was like to live when Hitler was around; what it was like to live in hiding day-after-day, never being able to see the light of day. That is just a hint of how powerful this book actually is. I would recommend this awesome book to everyone. It was a five star book in my opinion. --JW
Rating: Summary: Anne Frank Review: Anne Frank was a beautiful book. This book had many meanings. It taught me never to judge people. I think that the most beautiful and meaningful quote is "I still believe, in spite of everythig, that people are really good at heart." Anne went through lives wondering if this was the day, she would be found. Any normal teen could not stand to sit still all day with out being able to go out side and enjoy the beautiful fresh air. Anne was not able too. Anne acheived everything she wanted in life, she kissed Peter and created a wonderful book that touched the life of millions. All because Anne was a girl that wouldn't give up. Shes the kind of girl that the world needs, someone that cares about more then her self and makes the best out of the worst. Please sit down and enjoy this book you will really be touched. Tara Callahan, age 13
Rating: Summary: A BOOK YOU WON'T WANT TO PUT DOWN ! Review: This book is a book that is about a girl that goes into hiding during World War 11 when Hitler was killing all of the Jews. She lived in a small room with seven other people living there with her in a place called the Secert Annex. She has to learn how to get along with her friends and family. My favorite thing in this book was the fact that it told me how hard her live was for her during the times she hid. Also how lucky I am to be alive. If you Number the Stars then you will abosulty LOVE this book!
