Rating: Summary: This IS a classic Review: I am extremely grateful to an English teacher I had, who had this book as assigned reading in his class. I have since read it at least 5 more times. It's never failed to move me in some way. Very powerful reading, and, to me, very enjoyable as well.
Rating: Summary: Great Review: I cant say how much i loved this book....
Rating: Summary: LOVED IT!!! Review: I believed that this book has everything you could want in a story. Freindship, jealous people, laughter and the occasional tear. It was a very compelling book, and I would recomend it to anyone!
Rating: Summary: i thought it was ok Review: i honestly didn't like this book. i guess the story was well written, but i had a hard time connecting with the characters, seeing as how the book was written in a time when guys weren't supposed to be emotional. if you can handle reading a book the barely scratches the surface of the depth of finny and gene's bond, then you would probably like this book.
Rating: Summary: A Seperate Peace is good book Review: The book A Seperate Peace wasn't the best book I've read, but it was interesting. It is the story of two adolescent boys in the time of World War II. The focus of the book is set on the battles fought within the minds of the boys, not the ones on the battlefield. The main theme of this story os jealousy because even though Gene and Phineas were best friends, Gene has a hard time dealing with Phineas' "perfectness." Throughout the book there are more slow, boring parts thatn there are exciting, but when there were good parts in the I couldn't help but quicken my reading pace. The biggest dissapointment of A Seperate Peace was the ending, which was very surprising.
Rating: Summary: A book that'll keep you guessing 'til the very end! Review: The book A Separate Peace offered a realistic insight into the trials and events that take place during young men's adolescent lives. It discusses themes such as friendship, rivalry, insecurity, and dealing with hardships. I believe everyone should read this book, not that it will directly apply to your life, but it will apply to many people and situations that you've run across before, especially during your teenage years. This book is not only a boy's book, on the contrary, both men and woman will be able to relate to the people and different situations in this book. A Separate Peace is full of exciting turns and surprise endings. Throughout the book, you'll constantly be guessing what's going to happen, and what the characters will do next. Don't be confused by the title, as it may sound boring to some. The book's guaranteed to please!
Rating: Summary: A Wonderful and Exciting Book Review: I think that this book was very good, because it gave you a look at two different people. These two were brought together because of their friendship and one accident that changed both of their lives. I thought that the ending would turn out a little different because of the direction the book was going in. But overall I thought it was a good book.
Rating: Summary: Its a good book. Review: I think this book was in some ways realistic. Some things in this book could have taken place, while others are way out there. It was a very good book that was interesting to the end. It is a very easy book to read and flows smoothly from chapter to chapter. It is a wonderful book with a very different ending.
Rating: Summary: Good Review: I thought this book was very good. Noone else in my 8th grade class liked it. It was a little annoying that it took place in 1943, but the way the characters were described was really good.
Rating: Summary: Completely boring and stupid Review: If I didn't have to read this book I wouldn't have. I found it went into so much detail that you lose track of what is happening in the story. The book put me to sleep. I had to read it for my English 2 honors class.
