Summary: pretty good book
Review: A Separate Peace is a tragic "modern classic" concerning the complicated nature of adolescence. Gene is an emotional, intellectual boarding student at Devon Prepatory Academy. His roommate, Phineas, is more athletic and outgoing. When Phineas falls out of a tree, with Gene beside him, the seemingly straight forward accident begins to take on the possibility of an intentional act of violence on Gene's part. The author, John Knowles, plans this masterpiece of a novel to perfection. Knowles, as J.D. Salinger, author of Catcher in the Rye, tends to write about tragedies or struggles of teenagers. His use of language and symbols, such as the relation between the Devon River and Naguamsett River, is magnificent. A Separate Pieve is a spectacular novel of extreme adolescent conflict that must be read by all. It brings the reader to a new depth of thinking as Knowles moves the reader toward the turmoil and tragedy in the denouement.

Summary: reviewing A Seperate Peace
Review: A Separate Peace is about two young men and the experiences that they go through together during the year 1942. Gene Forrester is the narrator. He recalls what had happened 15 years ago. Phineas is his friend and he is very athletic. This novel strongly suggests the theme of war and all the personal wars that people go through. A Separate Peace is a really good novel and I think that everyone should read it. I hope you do to when you read it.

Summary: A Great Novel
Review: A Separate Peace is an exceptional novel. All of the characters and events that took place in the book were very realistic. The book made you feel as though you were one of the characters in it. The summer of 1943 at Devon was filled with envy, friendship, hatred, loyalty, anger, athleticism, and violence. As I read the book, I felt each one of these things. The events and characters seem so realistic that I believe that they are based on experiences John Knowles had when he attended Exeter. Knowles did a good job developing all of the characters in the story. John Knowles did an all around superior job writing A Separate Peace.

Review: I rate this book as a 4 because it has alot of depth. It is very complicated and has many themes and conflicts in it. I would say that mature people should read it because kids would not understand it. This book is about a young man who is living during World War II and is having trouble with his friend. His friend is a daredevil athlete and is always happy but one day he falls out of a tree and breaks his leg. He will never be able to walk again. I strongly sugest that you read this enchanting tale.

Summary: The review of A Separate Peace by the reader of the book
Review: A Separate Peace, John Knowles' modern masterpeice, serves as an exquisite example of great twenthieth century writing which should be held as a commended and cherished literary work. Knowles divulges and embellishes his characters' personalities and anemities in a manner which the reader can relate with the character. Knowles' conclusion provides a definitive denouement, and his plot does not digress much. Knowles gives the reader only certain attributes, however, to allow the reader to become involved in the story. I revere Knowles for doing so because the book captured me. I enjoy the protagonist's illimitable battles throughout the book, and I recomend this prodigious book to all.

Summary: A Seperate Peace Review
Review: I enjoyed reading and analyzing A Seperate Peace, by John Knowles. It was a book about a vacillating friendship between two teenage boys who faced conflicts between themselves, their fate, and each other. It is set in a boarding school in England called Devon High School. Knowles probably gets his writing ideas for the novel from his own high school experiences. It takes place during WWII, providing everyone at Devon with difficult decisions to make about their future. I recomed this book to anyone who enjoys reading moving stories about frienship and troubled adolescent years. It was a well written novel by Knowles which leaves you like you were going through the same conflicts as the characters. In conclusion, this book was a pleasure to read.

Summary: knight
Review: The popular classic, A Separate Peace, is an exceptional novel that brings out the hardships and struggles of life. The setting takes place at a New England prep school, the Devon School, during World War II. A Separate Peace is a story about two friends' friendship during the war at the Devon School. Gene, the protagonist, struggles with feelings of jealousy and selfishness for his best friend, Phineas. As Gene fights his feeelings of jealousy and selfishness against his love for Phineas, his negative feelings overtake him. This leads to Gene's crippling Phineas for life. From my point of view, John Knowles(author of A Separate Peace) included the war in the book for it to symbolize the war that was being fought between Gene and Phineas at the Devon School.

Summary: An Excellent Book About What Really Happens in the Mind
Review: This book is about friendship and its hardships. Gene, and intellectual, envies Phineas because of his athletic ability. Ironically, they are the best of friends. Unfortunately, their friendship becomes a roller coaster after an important event. Read A Separate Peace to find out what happens to their friendship. I think John Knowles wrote this book for adults. This book shows the redaer the effects of war. By reading A Separate Peace, they may want to work out their problems before taking action. Also, there are many people that the book refers to from World War II. Younger readers have probably never heard of these people. Even though there are these complications, this is an excellent book. I recommend it to people of all ages who know the struggles of friendship.
