This story presents to you the emotions the character, Rob Peck, goes through especially after he discovers that his father is very ill and will soon die. After he discovers this his father teaches him what it is to be a good farmer as well as how to be a respected man. The author reflects the book from real life situations he himself went through as a young boy.

Robert experiences many hardships that in the end help him to be the man that his father once was.

If I had the time I would read it again and again.It also has taught me many valuable lessons.One thing I dislike about this book is some of the graphic things described.
