Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: a VERY great book with the child interest rate: 2/3. Review: Julie of the Wolves is about a 13 year old girl who is dissatisfyed with her surroundings at home and leaves to a land that her ancestors(Eskimos) dwelled. She makes contact with the wolves that live in the area. Julie (the main character) enters the pack and depends on the wolves for life needs, just a little bit, though. That was the first part. The second part was the part that was boring and extremely inappropiate for young readers. It displays the reason for Julie's journey to such uncomfortable surroundings. The third part was the best with a suprising ending. Thats why the common child would be interested in two out of the three parts in this book. (2/3) Overall, this book was exciting and interesting and it will be a favorite if you read it!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: My Favorite Book! Review: I have read all three books in the Julie series, Julie of the Wolves, Julie and Julie's Wolf Pack, and I loved them all. I am a 13 year old who came upon Julie once by myself, and then another time in class. Let me say, it was easy to read it more then once. It is a wonderful book, creating an I can do it attitude for children everywhere. I thought it sent out a very nice message, completed with me loving the wolves at the end! Now Julie of The Wolves has an honored place on my bookshelf!
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Julie of the Wolves is a great educational fantasy book. Review: Julie of the wolves is a great book because, Julie is out on the Alaskan Tundra with no food, but at the end Kapu dies and She is safe.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Julie's survival depended on the wolves. Review: A 13 year old Eskimo girl runs away due to a tough life. Her husband who married her only to have a wife; beats her and after that is when the adventure starts. She tries to communicate with a pack of wolves as her father once did before he disappeared on a seal hunting trip. Julie needed the wolves help to her to survive by providing food for her. She gains the trust of this pack and joins them as a pack member. She travels with the pack and lives and speaks by their language of movement, sound and touch. And the rest you have to read to have as much fun as I did.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: a thrilling story about friendship and survival Review: A lovely story about a 13 year old Eskimo girl, named Miyax Kapugen, who runs away from her marrige, to try and reach her pen-pal Amy, in San Fransisco. On the way there, she gets lost on the wild, windy tundra. Luckily, Miyax (Julie,) befriends a wolf pack, and together they survive the cold Arctic winter, and find Kapugen, Miyax's father!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Do you like wolves? Review: This is a magnificent story about a girl who bonds with a wolf pack while lost on the tundra. She discovers how to get food and watches how the wolves live, so she can stay alive. You learn why one young wolf takes leadership and fights for his pack. Jean Craighead George wonderfully introduces Alaska, Eskimos and wolves to the reader. Julie's excitement begins here, but follows in two other books. Having won a Newbery Medal for most Distinguished Contribution to American Literature for Children, Julie of the Wolves is outstanding for young and adult readers.
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: The events in the story were not realistic. Review: I was not impressed with this novel. There was not enough detail for me to really get in to the character. Fast reading, but didn't really hold my attention.
Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: This was a good book but some was not exciting. Review: I had to read this book for a school project. I think adults may like this book better. Part one was the best in the book because the wolves were in that part the most but part 2 was horrible and very boring. Part 3 was like most other books. The Unexpected end came and it was over.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: I really wish this book had been rated YOUNG ADULT. Review: Part II describes a violent non-consenting adult physical relationship between pre-pubescent Julie and her "arranged marriage" husband which would result in serious jail time for the perpetrator in our society. The author consideres the "act" the zenith of the book where Julie takes responsibility for herself and leaves. I think some people forget that young children are not miniature adults, and often lack the experience and background knowledge to understand the kind of behavior described in this book. Don't get me wrong. This is an excellent piece of literature. But PARENTS please...read Part II thorougly before deciding to give this book to a young child.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: An edge of your seat kind of book!!! Review: Julie of the Wolfs is the first book I read by Jean Craighead George, and it gave me a good immpresion!! This book was so good, I would read it in class when I should have been listening to the teacher!! I stayed up late at night to see what would happen to Julie and her nice friends, a pack of wolfs.
