Rating: Summary: Great addition to any home Library Review: Midnight for Charlie Bone was one of the best books that I'v read this year. It grabs you from the first page and doesn't let go of you untill the end. This book has earned its place next to some great childrens book series such as The Harry Potter series and the series of unfortunate events. I cant wait for the next book in september and will an avid reader of Jenny Nimmo from now on.
Rating: Summary: Different and Delightful Review: Forget about the inevitable "Harry Potter comparisons. MIDNIGHT FOR CHARLIE BONE is closer to Roald Dahl than J.K. Rowling. Certain characters-- Charlie, Uncle Paton-- are well developed, while others are basically two-dimensional. This does not take away from the book's charm. Indeed, as the start of a series, it is to be expected. There are disjointed moments and loose ends aplenty, but they leave you yearning for more, and hopefully vthe author will resolve them (and lay out some others) in future books. The story is definitely different: darker than most, but not too frightening. Certainly it is age-appropriate (and even adults might get a kick out of it), although there are not many likeable characters to start out. There is something delightfully engrossing about the saga of Charlie Bone, and kids will be drawn to it. Enjoy!
Rating: Summary: Excellent Reading Review: If you like the Harry Potter series, you will enjoy this book. It has sort of the same feel as Harry Potter as the boy has to go to a new school for his special powers. The book will keep you intrigued right up to the end. This one would also be a lot easier for younger readers to read to themselves as the words are printed larger and the book is not quite as long as Harry Potter. I enjoyed this book very much and am beginning to read it to my 7 year old.
Rating: Summary: Midnight for Charlie Bone Review: Midnight For Charlie Bone is a very compelling story that keeps you longing for more. The book starts out with a Prologue that gives you a brief history of The Red King, it then starts with Charlie's dilemna over getting the wrong photograph and hearing what people are saying in pictures. This picture leads to a chain of events which include three cats called Sagitarius, Leo, and Aries, some very cool shoes, a robot recording dog, a wolf, and a feast, that end up in saving a girl. Along with an uncle who shatters glass when he's happy, a weird school, and a fat dog who thinks he Blessed, the book deserves every single star I gave it and more.
Rating: Summary: Mom's Review Review: My son's a 3rd grader (age 8) who loves to read. He's read all of the Harry Potter books several times. I was just looking for something similar, because I know he likes the fantasy style. When he was finished reading Midnight for Charlie Bone, I picked it up. What a great book. Lots of mystery... not too dark! It was very well written and I enjoyed it too! This one's a can't miss for your Harry Potter fan! Jenny Nimmo's writing is fun, interesting and intriguing, just like J.K. Rowlings.
Rating: Summary: The Harry Potter books have got some heavy competition Review: Midnight for Charlie Bone is a book about a boy named Charlie Bone who has the ability to hear voices in pictures and read faces. He helps a woman named Ms. Ingledew find her niece, who was traded for a package when she was about 3 yrs old. While avoiding Manfred, Asa, Zelda, his ex - friend Billy Raven and his three aunts ,he has to keep his plans confidential along with the mysterious metal case that will supposedly wake Emma Tolly . My favorite part of the book was when they finally see what is in the mysterious case that was given to them. This book was an excellent book that would beat a Harry Potter book any day. I advise you to get this book and the sequel, because i bet that the second book will be even better than the first one ...
Rating: Summary: Good Book! Review: I just finished this book last night and it was awsome! I really felt like I was there with Charlie at Bloors . Jenny is a great author. The book got tense at some parts and sometimes it was exciting and really enjoyed it. Plus it was 400 pages so there was always plenty of good book left until you get to the end, and its kinda sad when you do. The worst part is that Time Twister(the sequel) comes out on September 1st. It was a great book so read it or you'll be missing a great book! <: )

Rating: Summary: Midnight for Charlie Bone Review: The book that I am reading is Midnight for Charlie Bone. This book was written by Jenny Minmo. It is great. Charlie finds out that he can hear people talk in pictures. It all starts when he is making a card for his best friend and his mom is going to blow up a picture for the front and he gets a picture with a man with a baby on the front. Now his aunts find out about that and they are sending him to a special school for this so he can become very good at what he does or can do. Charlie goes out to find the people that the picture belongs to. When he finds them he gets a present for his friend so that he can go to his party that day. I don't want to give it away but this book is great this book and I would give it five stars. I would recommend this to a friend. You should try it and you'll like it.
