Review: The book Midnight Charlie Bone by Jenny Nimmo. It is great for all ages. If you liked Harry Potter you will love this one. I think it's a perfect book to read with your family because it is short and easy to read. It's about a boy Charlie, who lives with his mom, Uncle Paton, and his two grandmothers. One grandmother, Grandma Bone, tries to kill Charlie through out the book. There is also Mazie kind-hearted just like a grandma should be except when Grandma Bone walks into the room. One day Charlie has the misfortune of getting the wrong picture from the picture shop. When he pulls the picture out of its envelope and he starts hearing voices that are unrelated to his surroundings. The voices start talking about a baby girl that has been traded for a long silver case. He slams the picture face down on the table and then the mystery starts to unfurl.

Review: Midnight for charlie bon is the best book ever.Charlie bone is a normal boy that has friends and lives with his mom.oh yeah he can here voices in pictures.And his uncle can blow up lights.well any way after gandma bone found out that he had this special power,her and her sisters sends him to bloor's acdamey.
tis is a special scholl for kids that studies music,art and drama. this is also a school for kids that has powers like charlie.While he's at bloor's he found out that one of the students is someone othet than she thinks she is.well charlie find her parents.you have to read it to find out!!!!!!1

Summary: Too much like Harry Potter
Review: I picked up this book expecting to find something...original. But no, I was wrong. This is WAY too much like Harry Potter but it cannot surpass the details, plot, and overall storyline of Harry Potter. Everything was so expected since I'd already read HP more times than you can count. I still do not understand how people can say it is BETTER! A little bit of advice, conserve your money and buy something that actually is original not a copy.

Review: This book was written for children but as an adult, I found it to be a highly enjoyable quick read, something to spark the imagination. Charlie Bone is a young boy who lives with his mother and various other relatives. He discovers that he has a mysterious talent and learns some secrets about his family as well. He is dismayed to find out that because of this talent he will be required to attend a stuffy boarding school; but upon arriving there, he realizes that this is no ordinary school. There are some similarities to the Harry Potter series, but enough differences and originality to keep the reader's attention throughout. If you enjoyed the Harry Potter books, then you must read Charlie Bone!

Review: I loved Midnight For Charlie Bone so much that i read it in two weeks! It was probably tied with Harry Potter and may eventually overpass Harry Potter. Let me just say that if your child liked Harry Potter he/she will love this book. It is so good it was hard for me ot put it down!

Summary: Charlie Bone or Harry Potter?
Review: The many people that have read Midnight for Charlie Bone and the Harry Potter books immediately find that Charlie Bone is a lot similar to Harry Potter. They both go to a weird school, there's magic and interesting characters in each book, they probably wear similar clothes, too!
Which one do I find better, though? Charlie Bone, of course. I was completely obsessed with Harry Potter for a long while, but it soon got old. When I found the Charlie Bone books, I probably had the best time reading them! Harry Potter was great, but it's very hard for me to understand ALL the action. Also, I search for people who have read Midnight for Charlie Bone (and Charlie Bone and the Time Twister). The people I know who have read it or are currently reading it are completely absorbed or obsessed with it! I'm crazy about the books, too. The Charlie Bone books are about one of the only books I really understand when someone's talking about it. So, I highly recommend this book over summer or something, because I know most people'll be bored!

Summary: Trash can for Charlie Bone
Review: I'm a 43 year old mom who just recently read and LOVED the entire Harry Potter series. Based on other reviews here, I ordered both "Bone" books to read while waiting on the 6th HP book. I should have heeded the warning of a few not to waste my time. I was extrememly disappointed almost immediately with 'Midnight' but kept reading to give it a chance. I must say that was one chance too many. The character development is almost nill...I only read to page 173 and don't care enough to finish the book...also, I must agree with another review that the writing style DOES seem to be that of a young child, without a sense of rhythm or pace. I am astounded and annoyed as to how anybody could find this book worthwhile.

Review: I loved this book! I would recommend this book to anyone who liked Harry Potter! Even thought the auther went a little too far making it like HP, even though there was some differences! I liked this book because it had a lot of supence with Billy Raven, and when Charlie was in the Ruins! So i hope you enjoyed reading my review!!!!!!!

Review: This book is defently one of my all time favorites! Jenny Nimmo really has a gift, because I don't know anyone who disliked this book! I hope that all kids have a chance to read this exciting novel! I loved the magic and the aunts, I just couldn't put it down . I hope that everyone enjoys this magnificant, marvelous book!!!

Summary: Fresh and Clever
Review: To give an idea of where I'm coming from, I'm a law student, graduated from college with university honors and an excellent GPA. I read children's and young adult literature because it can be more honest in the positive ways that adult literature so rarely is and, frankly, children's and YA lit is more fun.

So, having read hundreds of YA authors and probably around 1000 YA and children's books, I solidly believe that Midnight for Charlie Bone is one of the freshest books I've read in some time. It was a pleasure to read and kept me away from my law books for an entire afternoon. The characters were people I could believe in--people I felt I could trust. After suffering through Harry Potter's descent into futile adolescent angst, encountering Charlie was a relief. I'll be rereading Charlie Bone in ten years while my Harry Potter books are long ago shipped off to the used book store.

(Some reviews have mentioned that certain aspects of the book were not well enough thought out or explained. The point is well taken, but somewhat irrelevant. If you want an encyclopedic examination of a magical world, read all of Tolkiens voluminous and wonderful works. If you want a good story filled with good people, Charlie Bone will be more than enough for you.)
