Rating: Summary: Super Interesting and Intense Review: The Indians of India are planning to revolt against the British in the mid 1800's. The son of a British captian lives in India at this time. He disguises himself as an Indian, coloring his skin, and wearing Indian style shorts. He gets caught in the middle of the rebellion and along with a Hindu monk, escapes the city in search of his father in another city. The adventurous trip to that other city through the tropical jungles of India is filled with suspense and adventure. A sort of queen of India is passing around a rubi from province to province. Each province that gets to see the rubi is assured the validity of the rebellion. John and the Hindu monk find an abandoned home of a British family, but all are dead, the Indian rebellion; only the 6 year old daugher survived. John and the Hindu monk take her with them, but she ends up with the rubi by accident. That is when another adventurous journey begins.
