The Vandal

Summary: Though I've forgotten the details, the tone remains in mind.
Review: I read this book ten years ago. Now, a junior at Vassar, I consider "The Vandal" among the books that most influenced my own fiction. This books holds a space in the shelves of my mind among the works of Kundera, Burroughs, Abe, Kafka, and, of course, Denis Johnson. In the fourth grade, "The Vandal" inspired me to write the first story that I ever fell in love with.
