Summary: An excellent coming of age book for young women.
Review: This has been a very special favorite book of mine for over 25 years. Betty Cavanna writes with wonderful caring and sensitivity of a young girl's struggles with the absence of her mother (died), her red hair and freckles, and a remote father at the critical time of turning 16. And then there is the collie - a runt turned unexpected champion through loving care! It's a book I have passed on to cousins and neices for years. I hope you will love it as much as I do.
