Review: This allegory of Beauty and the Beast has been written for juvenile readers but is reviewed here for its interest to adults readers as well: part fairy tale, part allegory, The Oxboy tells of an ox boy who resembles a child but who is born of a strange union between ox and woman. He experiences prejudice and kindness in strange places in a world which can't quite define or hold him.
