Sports in Literature

Summary: play ball!
Review: Literature just became even more fun and interesting by using a literary twist on sports. Although mainly male driven, this is a great book filled with stories, poems, and essays from classic and contemporary writers. I especially enjoyed the section about parents and children. Emra uses two helpful focus areas after each story or poem. The first, "Understanding what you read," asks comprehension questions to better enhance your reading. The second,"Writer's Workshop," suggests ideas for your own writing. This is a great book for that hard-to-shop for peron.
