Rating: 5 stars
Summary: This Book Makes "Hard" Authors Easy to Read
Review: I hadn't read many of the authors covered in this book, but finding out about where they came from, what was going on historically and the struggles they experienced in their own lives made me curious to read their fiction. Unless you've seen the movie version of one of her books, approaching someone like Edith Wharton can be daunting. This book gives you a general idea of plot summaries and themes to help you along and tells you which are the best books by each author. I tried novels of several of the writers discussed here, and Eduora Welty turned out to be my favorite.
