Summary: A perfect book for the AP exam late-starters...
Review: I think this book is more helpful than Barron's since Barron's is kind of a termonology book and this book is a story/outline book (with keywords highlighted).

This book eliminated everything you don't need to know for the AP (very very... helpful, expecially if you study only a couple days before the test like i did) but has everything that you need. It covers not only political history but also economy and art/humanity (which is important as it appeared on the 2000 AP! ). It can really help you nail both the multiple choice and essay if you read.

I would use Barron's as an extra "dictionary" only when I'm done with this book (afterall, what's the use of knowing the events when you don't even know anything about the background). If you seldom open your history book like me, this is really the one you want. By the way, don't be fooled by REA's multple practice tests, it's really more helpful to review the material then taking tests that you don't know anything about.

Summary: A reader from Denver, Colorado - Sept. 19, 1999
Review: I used this book for prep for the Ap US exam and loved it. However, I find its review is wonderful for the multiple choice, but not necessarily the essays. You are going to have to read the thick and scary texts for this. It does however provide a few tips for when you write your essays. I received a 4 on the exam, and it was definatley thanks to my all day reading of the review the day before the exam. Good luck!

Summary: Very very good.
Review: Wow does this book bring back memories from a massive cram session I had two days before the test! I found this book a great help it is very clear with the review. You see the ETS is not very creative, they use the same questions over and over again. My teacher actually predicted many multiple choice questions! I remember that I really regretted sleeping in the back of my class, so I frenetically went to bookstores two days before the test. I got a 4 on it so I am happy, but damn do I hate history!
