Summary: It is an exquisite book.
Review: "The Avonlea Album" is an exquisite keepsake that represents a television show ringing with beauty and wholesomeness. It shows a bygone era in which people were respectable and decent. The beautiful photos exhibit some of the scenery seen in the first and second seasons of the show, which is one of the greatest ever made. If you like Anne of Green Gables, you'll love Avonlea.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A charming, lyrical companion to the "Avonlea" series
Review: The television series "Avonlea" was based on four novels by Lucy Maud Montgomery, with "The Story Girl" and "The Golden Road" forming the framework while additional characters and incidents from two collections of short stories, "Chronicles of Avonlea" and "Further Chronicles of Avonlea." As Fiona McHugh explains in her prologue, "The Road to Avonlea" was an attempt to recreate Montgomery's dream of childhood that "fair, lost" place "with a spell of eternity woven over it." "The Avonlea Album" combines color photographs from the television series with both descriptions as well as passages in italics are drawn from the four Montgomery novels as well as some of her journals. Viewers will recognize scenes from some of their favorite "Avonlea" episodes. Of course, if the television series did not inspire you to go and read Montgomery's works then this charming companion volume will probably not do the trick either. But I have certainly enjoyed reading the novelizations of Avonlea episodes and going back and checking out the source material in Montgomery's writing. This lyrical album certainly reflects the attention to detail and demand for quality we have come to expect from Sullivan Films in bringing Montgomery's works to television.

Summary: Brilliantly captures the spirit of Avonlea
Review: This beautiful book will delight fans of the television series "Road to Avonlea". It contains many gorgeous pictures from the show, as well as quotes from various Lucy Maud Montgomery novels. My copy is particularly special to me as I had the chance to get it autographed by a few cast members. All in all, a wonderful addition to an Avonlea fan's library!
