Rating: Summary: Does not reflect the test Review: I used an earlier edition of this book to prepare for last year's ACT and thought it was very poorly written. Not only did it probably not do very much to improve my score, it may have actually lowered it; the practice test I took in the book was much harder than the actual ACT test and contained question types that you would never find on the ACT, thus making me excessively nervious for the test and spend too much time studying things I didn't need to know, thus distracting me from studying the things I actually needed to know. I did not find the review sections to be that great, the test-taking strategies were very generic ("get good night's sleep before the test" type advice), or the practice problems at the end of the chapter to be that great. I would recommend buying one of Kaplan's or Princeton Review's excellent ACT review books; these books are much better researched, and so reflect the test better, have better test-taking strategies, and are generally much more helpful.
