Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: Major Errors Review: An amazing and strange author wrote J.K. Rowling The Wizard Behind Harry Potter. Marc Shapiro wrote this interesting unauthorized biography. The book was published in 2000 but did you know that dreams could actually come true? That is what J.K. Rowling The Wizard Behind Harry Potter actually tells. Joanne Kathleen Rowling ( J.K. Rowling ) wrote the adventures of Harry Potter. When she was a child she loved to write! She then wrote the Harry Potter books and finally became a published author like she always wanted to. I thought the book was boring in the first chapter because I already knew things about Harry Potter. The book then became interesting and memorable. I think it's very interesting to know about the author. I think an author wouldn't have difficult problems in life. That's not true because J.K. Rowling did have bad problems in life. The book is memorable because I learned about the author of Harry Potter. Harry Potter is one of my favorite books that I like to read. I liked how Marc wrote about how J.K.'s life is not that good. She doesn't have a husband but she does have a daughter. Marc wrote about Joanne's younger stories that were very neat to learn how she wrote when she was younger. I dislike how Marc wrote about her cat purring. That was extremely unintelligent, it made no sense to write that in the book. The book ensures that dreams can come true. It did for Joanne, so it can for anyone. All Joanne wanted to do was become a published author and she did in 2000. The book suggests that you should never give up on a dream. Your dream could actually become reality. So never give up on your dreams! I really enjoyed reading J.K. Rowling The Wizard Behind Harry Potter. It gave me more motivation on my dreams. I can do anything if I reach directly toward my dreams. I think people who read the Harry Potter books should read this biography. You get to actually learn about the author and know how she came up with Harry Potter in the first place. I enjoyed reading this book and learning about Joanne, the author of my favorite series.

Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: Major Errors Review: I belive that the man who wrote this book did not read the books at all or he did not know what he was doing. On the second time of reading it. I read that the bank was ran by owls. How can owls run a bank?I was taught by a published writer it is best to make sure the book is free of grammarical errors so it apears to be professional.I wonder did he edit the book or have an editor edit them?
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: Hmmm... I think someone didn't do their homework Review: I liked this breif bio but I found a lot of inaccuraces. I was little disgusted by the fact that the author did not do their homework before setting out to write it. Otherwise a nice breezy read.
Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: Poorly Written Drivel Review: I was unable to finish this book due to the glaring errors and poor craftsmanship. I should have realized that any author who listed People magazine as a model of respected journalism was not to be trusted; still, I let my curiosity get the best of me. Finally, I determined that I could, in fact, be reading ONLY what could be described as an UN-authorized biography; and a re-read of the front cover of the book confirmed my desperate diagnosis. Not to put too fine a point on it, but this book stinks; it reads like a ghastly farce of a paper cut-n-copy fan-zine. I should like to see what a more capable author (not to mention editor and proofreader) would do with such interesting material.

Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Short and Sweet Review: This book does give an insight into J K Rowling's life and the struggles she overcame to become the great author she is.
This book is very small (100 pages) and you can easily finish it in 1 - 2 hours.
Beware though that this is quite old and the author talks about Rowling's life only till Harry Potter 3 and a lot has happened since then in the author's life which this book does not cover...
but this does not in any way stifle the simple and quick speed on which you'll be upto one of your (favorite) authors
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: Nope! Review: This book is even more disappointing than "Conversations With J.K. Rowling". This book is filled with inaccuracies about the Harrry Potter series, even though the author claims that he is a devoted fan of Harry Potter and enjoys the series, but that's hard to believe because this book wouldn't have so much wrong info! Plus, this book is unauthorized, and most of the material was from interviews, websites, and books. Don't forget that Rowling did not put 1 word into this biography herself! I thought the part about her life before Harry Potter was released was kind of interesting, but he keeps trying to relate this to Harry Potter. For example, he says how so many names of people Rowling has met have been "inspiration" for names for the Harry Potter books. That got really annoying! It seems like the author thinks that the only thing in Rowling's life is Harry Potter. But in Rowling's story after the books were released, this book really went downhill. It kept on telling about the Harry Potter books, their summaries, and things like that. All of it is iformation that Harry Potter fans already know, and they most likely want to find out about Rowling, not Harry Potter! I would say this is definitely a bio you should skip. Come on, would you really want to read a book with so many inaccuracies and boring info?! Think about it. Just wait until we get a decent biography of J.K. Rowling
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: "In the world of Harry Potter, owls run banks" pg. 7. Review: This story on J.K.Rowling was OK, but I think that the author just basicly talked about her childhood , her Harry creation, and left the middle of the whole story of her life thusfar empty.I wasn't really impressed with the book, but it's great if you just want to focus on Harry Potter.Yet there is so much more to this brillant woman than just Harry. If you're doing a book report, don't chose this book.
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: Poorly Researched and Written Review: Unfortunate but true - the author clearly has not read the Harry Potter books themselves. The "writing" itself is painfully stilted and gives the strong impression that scant facts have been surrounded by stock "fantasy" adjectives and adverbs and then bluntly tacked onto a generic "bio" outline.
I'd heard that this wasn't a great bio but while waiting for the Half-Blood Prince I broke down and bought it anyhow thinking "Just how bad could it be?" The answer is "very." I urge you not to make the same mistake. However many times you've read the books themselves you'd be much better off reading them again than reading this.
