Rating: Summary: A fun and easy to read story! Review: Ten-year-old David Green gets a big surprise when he buys a goldfish from Mr. Tidbinkle's Pet Shop. His fish is not an ordinary fish. He is a Whirly Fish unlike any fish David has heard of! He can whirl through the air, speak to David, and calculate problems on his flashing orange scales. As the adventure begins with David and his fish, David gets into trouble at school because of his new pet. Dinner at Mrs. Podertuck's house turns out to be a mess because of the Whirly Fish and Timothy, a hungry cat. There's a girl David's age in parts of the story and he doesn't care much for girls! At a pond, the Whirly fish meets a girl fish, Angelica, and other creatures. As the story progresses, David winds-up getting his hands full because of his new pet! There are fish, snails, frogs, a cat, rabbits, a scorpion, a pelican, hummingbirds, water bugs, and others in the story. What a fun book! It's well written from a 10-year-old's point of view. Young readers would probably find "David and the Whirly Fish" fun and easy to read. I highly recommend it! Two thumbs up! Great book Geraldine! I am the author of JEREMY GRABOWSKI'S CRAZY SUMMER IN STORMVILLE!, a children's book.
