Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: A fitness book that's fun to read?? You bet! Review: A great book! It's easy to read, full of good solid information, and entertaining as well. Everyone is going to learn something valuable from this book, from those who want to get started with exercise, to health care professionals, athletes, bodybuilders, and yes, even couch potatoes! You'll read it in great gulps, then want to refer back to it again and again. The information is thorough, the pictures and instructions are clear. There's a chapter for each major component of a complete fitness program: getting started; safety and self-care; nutrition; stretching; aerobics; core strengthening; weight training. It's well-organized, and the table of contents and index make it easy to find what you're looking for. But this is more than just a great fitness resource. It will inspire you and motivate you. The story of the author's comeback from a serious motorcycle accident is interwoven with the information, so that you see how his learning process developed, why each component is important, how it contributed to his return to health. You will gain insight into your own experiences through Jim's stories and examples. You'll sympathize with the skinny kid who wanted to build up his physique a little, walked into a gym, and was so intimidated by all those big guys strutting around that he (very coolly) walked right out again. You'll smile at his triumphant return to the gym a year later, and will know that you, too, can make the changes you want in your fitness, your health, and your body. It's the perfect answer to all those excuses that really boil down to "It probably won't work, not for me, so why try?" Jim Nightingale, Your Personal Trainer clearly says, "It can work! Here's how!"
