Review: As an Athletic Director I am constantly amazed that we expect our team captains to step in and know exactly what we expect from them (if anything) as a captain. Craig's book is an awesome reference book for coaches and captain's alike. It really offers great ideas on what is expected of the captain and how to use this position in the most positive way. If you want your captains to really be leaders, this book will show them how!

Playing Beyond the Scoreboard is a wonderfully designed book that will ultimately help every team captain, player, coach, and parent. Personal experiences shared by Mr. Hillier are used to supplement a great understanding of what it takes to build a "successful team." His experience in mentoring, guiding, and teaching thousands of youth annually in the hundreds of seminars that he teaches throughout the United States, gives him a unique perspective on the requirements of successful "team captains" today.

This book should be used by school administrators as a blue print to help design a schools philosophy and action plan on how to create and maintain successful teams, regardless of the activity, sports related or not! After reading and implementing this book I wish all team captains good luck in helping to create the team's "season of significance!"
