Summary: Save Your Money
Review: Although there is some good information in this book, it is a decade behind the latest research on pitching. There are far better and more "updated" books in the market. I do give the author credit for writing about the special needs of young children as it relates to "growth plates". Chapter III, "Epiphysis: Key to Pitching Arm Life" is very good. However the photos are absolutely awful and amateurish. In many instances it's hard to tell what the photo is trying to demonstrate, in others, complete body parts are cut out. Save your money. When purchasing any book on pitching, especially for youth, try purchasing the latest research and not something that was written over a decade ago.

In the last 10 years there has been a revolution in the understanding of the mechanics, conditioning, and psychology of pitching for superior performance. The world of physics-based, three-dimensional motion analysis done with the latest high tech equipment and computer software coupled with the latest understanding of human kinetics is bringing new light to our understanding of the art and science of pitching. Most of this cutting-edge information did not exist a decade ago. You will discover that there are better written and more complete books demonstrating how to teach pitching to youngsters.
