Summary: A History of English Horse Racing
Review: A collection of short stories, articles and essays, it deals with breeding, training, and racing in England. While it probably is a must for English fans, most Americans will find only limited appeal. Certainly the names of Ribot and Nijinsky should be familar to the American fan, especially if interested in bloodlines. The general stories dealing with breeding and training are interesting. But, I doubt that even the most avid American fan would care of the impact made by the sixth Earl of Rosebery.
