Summary: Back Again For 2001
Review: Bill James may be one of the most brilliant baseball analysts ever, and he put Sabremetrics (the advanced statistical analysis of baseball) on the map. But in my opinion he's even more gifted as a writer than he is as a statistician. And somehow I feel that these days, he's mainly lending his name to the work - worthy though it may be - of others, in order to give it instant credibility.

Find yourself an old copy of This Time Let's Not Eat The Bones (or The Historical Baseball Abstract, or any of the early Abstracts), settle down with it on a rainy March afternoon, and you'll see what I mean. Bill, wherever you are, it's time to stop living off your royalites. We miss your inimitable, trenchant, hilarious PROSE!

Summary: The MUST have book for any baseball fan
Review: If you are a baseball fan, this is the book to have. Has career stats of every active major leaguer, and even projections for the fantasy league owner to use. I purchase this book every year.

Summary: The baseball book to own!
Review: If you are a fan of individual baseball statistics, you have to have this book. It is filled with player statistics as well as predictions for the upcoming season. What makes this book so fasinating is that they are usually right on target with their predictions. I only recommend this book to those who are really interested in baseball stats, because it's not a novel about baseball. I hope this helped some of you, because this is my first time writing a review.

Summary: A must have for any fantasy baseball player
Review: Once again, Bill James is saving my behind. Last year, his handbook got me a playoff fantasy team, which my friends and I considered to be one of the best. I'm sure that this one will help me too. It has every imaginable stat, manager information, ballpark information and player projections. If it weren't for this book series, my friends would be hideously laughing at me for having the worst team in the league.

Summary: Back Again For 2001
Review: One of the first and best numbers books published every year. If you have any of the older editions, you already know what this book will be like. This book is a lot better than The Sporting News' Baseball Register, which only has the real basic stats (BA, ERA, etc., but no OBA or SLG). However, as in previous years, no biographies or pictures. STATS provides the statistics for a number of other companies' books and for computer programs. The books in their own line are usually the best things that they are involved with.
