Summary: Must we bash men to celebrate women?
Review: I bought this book with the hope of inspiring myself to work harder, jump higher, run faster, etc. While it does contain some truly inspiring stories of triumphant women, they are brief and way too infrequent. The subtitle, "A Celebration of Women In Sport" is misleading. Women have come a long way, but to focus on the negative doesn't celebrate, it just promotes bitterness.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: An incredibly positive book about women athletes.
Review: I was surprised by the "men bashing" comments about "The Quiet Storm" and wonder if the reviewer has this book mixed up with another. "Storm" is an incredibly positive book about what women athletes have accomplished, filled with stories that make you want to shout, "I can do that!" The book will help inspire parents to encourage their daughters to get involved in sport. It's a great book for anyone to read, especially parents of girls.

Summary: In response to the reader from Washington D.C.
Review: In response to the reader from Washington, D.C. -- I am not sure what book s/he read, but it couldn't have been "The Quiet Storm." This book is a positive, inspirational look at what women athletes have done, how times have changed/are changing for women because of their efforts, and how important sports are in the lives of girls and women. It is a book for everyone, and I especially recommend it to the fathers of girls.
