The first World Series was played in Boston in 1903. The work depicts full black and white renditions of the old cities at the turn of the century. The Yankees nearly won the 1904 pennant. In 1910, there was a highly contested batting race. Early pitching duals thrilled crowds; such as the exchanges between Koufax and Marichal. There was great action in the 1918 World Series. Mays performedspectacularly in center field. Mickey Mantle had an enviable home run record . Schmidt held the 3rd consecutive home run title. The book is a spectacular work for any baseball enthusiast. It is highly recommended for purchase by a wide constituency of teens, young adults, middle age and elderly citizens who might actually remember some of the earlier history of baseball in this country.

All of the most memorable events are in there. Seaver, one of the greatest players, has a great knowledge of the game and uses it to create interesting accounts. A great book for a any baseball fan.
