Review: Mastering Karate is the definitive modern textbook in the field of American martial arts instruction. It is apparent throughout the book that Dr. Beasley not only understands martial arts instruction today, but the underlying need for instructors to continue their own individual improvement. I can only hope that Mastering Karate will become a reference manual for my fellow martial arts instructors.

Summary: Excellent Overview
Review: Typically I am biased towards Western and non-traditional arts but here I find an exception. Dr. Beasley has taken his years of experience in both traditional and non-traditionl training and combined that knowledge in this very informative text that is head and shoulders above most traditional tomes that have little more than a nodding understanding of outside disciplines. Beasley's years of dedication and study shine through on every page. A fine effort.
