Rating: Summary: Compelling blend of the benefits for mind and body Review: This book addresses the concerns I had about water fitness from the emotional preparation to accept a new challenge to the details of getting the chlorine off my skin. It is a highly readable, comfortable book.
Rating: Summary: excellent and rewarding Review: Water Dance is a wonderful book for swimmers and non-swimmers alike. it is a total non-impact program that allows the partipant to engage in a healthy and refreshing workout, while all the time having fun. i would recommend this book to anybody who wants to feel good. try it!
Rating: Summary: Not what I expected Review: While this book may be good for someone totally new to the concept of self-improvement it seemed very basic. The main problem I had with this book is that there seemed to be parts missing. For example, it gives very detailed (to the extreme) descriptions of the warm up part of the actual water workout, but when it comes to the part about the main work-out, I couldn't find ANYWHERE that it told you what to do during this part. It explained how to do intervals, etc, but never made it clear what exactly you were supposed to be doing during the work part of the interval. It also included charts detailing the intervals, but gave inaccurate descriptions of them in the text, making it very confusing. There were also a couple of references to diagrams/descriptions of certain exercises that weren't there. Overall, I was diappointed in this book as I was looking for something that I could get into the pool and do. Even after studying the book for 2 nights it was unclear to me how to do a water workout. The information about wellness, nutrition, meditation etc would be helpful for a very beginner, but nothing new for anyone with basic knowledge of these topics.
