Summary: Best Sports Writer in America
Review: I grew up reading the Kansas City Star. I read a lot of other sports media, too. Our house received Sports Illustrated, I watched ESPN, and when the internet came around I routinely hit the major sites. Nobody--with the possible exception of Roger Angell--writes as well about sports as Posnanski. The canned metaphors and cheap judgmentalism that plague most sports columns are absent from Posnanski's writing. His columns, essays really, are more reflective and insightful than anything that can be found in the entire KC Star, or any other newspaper for that matter. I left Kansas after high school, but I check the Star's website several times a week for new Posnanski columns, especially those on baseball. He is always worth reading.

Summary: Poz knows his stuff, and really knows why people love sports
Review: If you're a sports fan, then you know how much a good sports columnist can change the way you feel about sports. For anyone who's picked up a Kansas City Star over the past six years, they know Joe Posnanski (aka the Poz) is one of the best sports writers in the country.

The Associated Press recently awarded him Best Sports Columnist in the country, and, reading this book, its easy to see why.

His columns evoke more emotion and sentiment, and are funnier, than just about any other writer's can ever hope too.

If you want to check out his writing style, go to www.kansascity.com and read his last few columns. You won't be disappointed!
