Summary: MY SON LOVES THIS BOOK
Review: I was excited to find a book that is endorsed by both the USA Wrestling Federation and the US Olympic Committee. This book is wonderful for giving an overview of the sport of wrestling. I wanted my son to know the history of the sport along with the basic rules & terminology. He loves watching WWF on TV but this book is actually about the real sport of wrestling & he just loves it. I highly recommend this book for parents that want to learn how to get their child into the sport as well as for the kid that wants to learn about Olympic athletes that have excelled in the sport. Thanks AMAZON for carrying this great book.

Summary: An introduction to wrestling as an organized sport
Review: This book covers alot of territory: wrestling hisotry, types of wrestling, basic skills, match rules, governing bodies and associations, and tips for participants, parents, coaches, and spectators.

As a broadbrush introduction, the book is very good. If, however, you were looking for detail in any one of those areas, with the possible exception of match rules and etiquette, you'll need supplementary books. I would venture that the best audience for the book might be parents or interested spectators. Participants and coaches will need much more detail on skills and on successful development of a program.
