Summary: A trek back through basketball history
Review: The first thing to mention here is that the book is now a few years old, so recent statistics are not included along with recent stars of the game. If you can get a revised and updated version then ignore the above comment. I found this book more of a history of the game, rather than an encyclopedia. If you are looking for detailed statistics, then look elsewhere. This book focuses on a history of the players, teams and coaches. In that respect it is a very enjoyable read. The book is divided into 16 sections. The major sections of the book include - 'The NBA Teams', 'Legends of the NBA', 'The Great Players' and 'The Great Coaches'. Other sections include 'The NBA Draft', 'The Hall of Fame', 'The NBA All-Star Game' and others. Plenty of black and white and colour photos are included in the book and there are six pages of NBA records at the rear of the book. This is a hardcover book with, you guessed it, Michael Jordan, featured on the front. It also comes with a glossy dustjacket. Enjoyable read, but for a definitive book of this type look no further than Basketball : The Legends and the Game
by Vincent M. Mallozzi.

Summary: original excellent- the Czech edition 1998 very poor
Review: The texts below at least 35 Figures are not correct- they do not fit to the latest edition. My remarks are focussed to Czech edition (Svojka and Co,.Praha). I contacted the Czech editors but without any response. In that particular case the book do not possess a character of Encyclopaedia. I feel sorry for that because I bought the book for my son who is a fanatic fan of NBA as a Christmas present. This was one of not so many chances to be involved in the NBA.

Summary: Not An Encyclopedia
Review: This book is a big disappointment for anyone seeking an actual encyclopedia. The book reads like a hard bound souvenir program. There are almost no statistics. Only highlights. Only championship series are summarized in one or two lines. A waste of time and money for something that is mis-labeled as an encyclopedie.
