Summary: Highly Recommended!
Review: Football is unlike most other sports in that you cannot figure out how the game is played just by watching it. At least I never could. When I first began watching football a few years ago, I was puzzled by more than a few aspects of the game. I picked up a copy of this book, and all of my questions were answered! The author, Linda Wong, is the mother of NFL linebacker Kailee Wong (formerly of the Minnesota Vikings, currently with the Houston Texans). Linda and Kailee Wong have recognized that a lot of women know very little about football and therefore cannot enjoy it. They have written this book specifically to address this problem. Most of the book is written by Linda Wong. It is organized in a very simple and straightforward fashion. There are chapters on the Basics, Scoring Points, Offensive Players, Defensive Players, Special Teams, and Common Penalties. Everything you need to know to understand what is going on during a football game is in there. The author's style is clear, concise and pleasant. She has also interspersed some entertaining personal anecdotes on her own experiences in learning about football throughout the text. Although the book's intended audience is women who have no idea why their friends/husbands/ boyfriends get so excited over a football game, this is really a terrific introduction to football that will allow anyone who lacks a background in football to understand and enjoy watching the sport. Football is fun to watch if you understand what's going on! I swear! I'm something of an NFL addict at this point. So if your friends spend Sundays glued to the television for 5 months of the year, don't even try to beat them -get this book and join'em!

Summary: GOT FOOTBALL ?
Review: Mom's Pocket Guide To Watching Football is an easy reading book for women of all ages. Once you start to read it, you won't be able to put the book down. The interesting stories about the lives of a mother and son's point of view makes the book enjoyable. The quotes from real professional player's make it easy to learn what their positions are all about, and how excited they are to be in those positions. The way the author explains all aspects of the game including penalties, tips and final thoughts makes understanding the game of football easier. I recommend this book to men, women and kids of all ages who want to have more understanding of the game called football.

Summary: Qualifies for the Hall of Fame!
Review: There are hundreds of thousands of people who enjoy the game of football. Whether you have played the game at sometime in your life, think you know the game or are clueless about the game, this easy to read and understand book should be a part of every football fan's library. The Wongs' only mistake was thinking that women would be their target audience. NOT SO! It's clearly written for men, women and young adults---anyone who wants to learn about the game or to increase their knowledge of the game of football.

It's a 5 star all the way!

Summary: Get it Now for your Super Bowl Party!
Review: This is an easy comprehensive and comprehensible "Hoyle" for football at all levels for moms, dads, and everyone else. It answers basic and not-so-basic questions. The "Oops!" anecdotes are funny. The input from NFL players is interesting. The diagrams of officials' signals could be real handy if John Madden and Dennis Miller are ever struck mute and incapable of telling us what's going on.

It's a dandy Super little book.
