Rating: Summary: ...using the Coach U approach Review: As the previous reviewers have written, the title is misleading if not changed to "Becoming a coach using the coach U approach". Even so I don't wan't to be all critical. The book has got its uses, the question is if you want to pay for it considering the commercial aspect of the book. The book is filled with 'contact-information' on coaches who have graduated from the program. If you find someone with whom you share opionions you can try to contact them to learn more - I will. The book share some information about how a coach work, describes and includes two coach U models and a sales letter. It also mentions the three basic steps of coaching Who/What/How. I didn't by the book, I borrowed it...

Rating: Summary: Good Reference Review: I found this book to be very informational. Some may see it as promotional material for Coach U, a virtual university for coaches, but that does not detract from the fact that the first 56 pages describe the who-what-where-why-when of the coaching field. In addition, the appendix is full of resources for personal development. I will admit that I became a Coach U student not long after reading this book, but the book did not sell me on Coach U, it sold me on coaching (there are other coach training organizations in addition to Coach U, which I researched well before making my decision). Before this book, I had a small idea of what coaching was. After reading it I KNEW what coaching was and was grateful to find this field, thanks to the book.Recommendation: If you haven't the vaguest idea what coaching is, don't buy this book. If you are intrigued about the coaching field and want to know if it is a job/field for you, this book will lay out the nuts and bolts and the potential of this career before you. You will get alot out of it, regardless of whether or not you decide to attend Coach U.

Rating: Summary: A waste of time and money Review: This book charged the reader to be sold on enrolling in Coach U school. It contained comments from students who were supposed to have taken courses from Coach U but one cannot believe these are real people or else words were put in their mouths. There was no information in the book, only general comments of what you can learn by taking these classes. I felt cheated and do not recommend this book to ANYONE. I am going to send it back.
