Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Packed with useful information!
Review: As an avid reader, I've grown to especially love children's how-to books as they tell you what you need to know quickly and simply so you can jump right in and start without getting bogged down in endless details. Brenda's book has that beautiful clarity and simplicity.

Her information on getting familiar with different horses before starting to buy your own is fantastic - great suggestions for those who don't own a horse but want to ride and learn about them before (or even instead of) buying their own.

Chapters 5-12 cover knowing your horse, tack, feeding, health care, training, vices and etiquette in a very readable, useable format. Excellent suggestions and information in every section.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A must-have for any horse owner
Review: Brenda gives practical advice on horse buying, ownership, and management THAT WORKS! I have used her techniques and can attest to that. I met Brenda after reading her book, and now I own a gelding bred and started by her. She is truly knowledgeable.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: excellent information for novice to intermediate adults
Review: Expert, truly knowledgable advice on selecting, caring for, training, and riding the horse. Includes information on illness and injury. Written on an adult level, with details. Not the shallow coverage usually written for novice to intermediate riders.
