Summary: Looking for instructions/information not intiminating photos
Review: I was looking for comprehensive information on weight training, not a photo gallery of body builders. I found some very informative information in Everett Aaberg's, Muscle Mechanic's

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: Basic and lots of pictures
Review: The book is basic but not for a complete beginner. Assumes some knowledge of the gym and of muscles. Too many photographs instead of more information. Not good value for money.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: great for serious beginners
Review: This is the best book I could find for someone getting started with free weights. A good, solid introduction on how to get started, with good descriptions of exercizes (with pictures), and pointers on what NOT to do. Cleared up my confusion over which exercises to do, how much, how often, etc. Also has no-nonsense insider tips from a guy who, I would venture to say, really knows what he's talking about.
