Review: It has always surprised me that given its long ancient history.It has taken this long for somebody to take up the challenge and write a witty, informative and highly readable book about St. Andrews - its not just about golf! Tobert has filled the role wonderfuly and will hopefuly entice the tourist or 'New Pilgrim' to visit the town's other jewels. Yes there is life off the links, but beware its traffic wardens are infamous and resistence is futile! Congratulations to Tobert for accepting the challenge and at last St. Andrews has a local answer to Bill Bryson and James Dodson.
