Rating: Summary: Good Book, I recomend it. Review: "Manchester Unlimited" has controversial issues that deal with businesses with the soccer club. Also the rise and fame the of the club. Not only did one man change the team but others also. Martin Edwards, the chief executive of the soccer club may not be a popular guy in England, but he made what Manchester United is today. I recomend this book to people who are into business and sports, because it's not a book about soccer, it's a book of business dealing with the soccer club.

Rating: Summary: Saul from Samo Review: I chose to read this book because I love soccer, but it ended up dissapointing me. Never have I read a book where there are meetings and arguments in every page. The excess amount of meetings that Bose describes made me feel like I too was sitting in the meeting trying to stay awake. The greed that this club had to become the best helped them do so. Their were key moves by club officials that lead to this story of success. The only thing exciting about this book were the arguments thinking that at any time some club officials would literally fight each other in the meetings. If your interested in business and strategy you would probably enjoy it, if you play soccer and try to read this book after practice I guarantee you will have trouble trying to stay awake.
Rating: Summary: Andrew from Samo Review: I felt the book was ok. If someone is looking for a book about soccer, how to play or a story about a soccer player this isnt it. But if you are looking to find out how a soccer club works, what goes on behind the tv than this is it. Mihir definately knows what he is talking about and has done an enormous amount of research to write this book. Even though it was well written, I found it to be a little dry at times which I did not find to apealing.
Rating: Summary: manchester Review: I THOUGHT THIS BOOK WAS VERY WELL WRITTEN. I AM A MANU. FAN BUT I FOUND THE BOOK A LITTLE BORNING. I THINK I PREFER WATCHING THE GAMES. THOUGH THE STEPS TAKEN TO MAKE THIS CLUB THE RICHEST WAS INTERESTING.

Rating: Summary: The Miracle Revealed Review: Mihir Bose does an excellent job of describing Manchester United's amazing turnaround. It's amazing that the book provides all the details and facts about the Club's history. If you are a Manchester United fan or even just a soccer fan, you'll love this book.
Rating: Summary: Manchester Unlimited Review: The book is very well written, with exciting econpomic moves by the executives from Manchester United. It shows how big soccer is in the world and how much power Manchester really has. I am a soccer fan but not really into economics and because of that i wasn't very thrilled with this book. I recommend it to people that like soccer, are familiar with Manchester United and are interested in the economics and business behind the world's richest soccer club.
Rating: Summary: Explosive? I think not Review: This book seriously undermines the exciting, exhilarating, thrill one receives from watching a United game. While it tells the reader of United's rise to the top from an economic point of view, it does so in a banal way. After a few pages the reader is highly tempted to put the book down. The tale never takes off and Bose throws so many names at you, that the reader no longer can tell who is on the executive board at Manchester United, or who is the former CEO of BSkyB. If you truly want to learn about Manchester United, save the money you plan to spend on this book, and put it towards a plane ticket to Manchster, England, and a ticket to Old Trafford.
Rating: Summary: An interesting read for some. Review: This book tells the story of Manchester United, one of the most famous soccer clubs in the world. Much of the book is focused on the last couple years focusing on the BskyB bid to buy Man United and the tries at a "Super League" (especially the Media Partners proposal). The second section of the book is devoted to the history of the club, and, when applicable, English soccer history (e.g., the Heysel Disaster, Tottenham's flotation on the open market, etc.).I'm not sure this book would be very interesting for, 1) someone who knows a great deal about Man United, or 2) someone who knows nothing about Man United. It was perfect for me since I knew BskyB had bid to buy Man United and that a European "Super League" had been rumored. I think someone familiar with English soccer would know most of this book, and someone completely unfamiliar might struggle with names and such. Bose does attempt to give an unbiased opinion of Martin Edwards, in case anyone cares. Overall, I enjoyed the book. Not a literary masterpiece, but filled with information I was curious about and probably would have been hard pressed to find in the U.S.
