Rating: Summary: Better than nothing, not as good as Walsh Review: I bought many Mausers and tried to sporterize them. Using Keunhausen's book was frustrating because there is informantion there, it is just hard to find. The problems with the book: 1) No clear table of contents 2) Contantly changes the subject only to return later 3) recomends heat treatment after many steps [mistake] 4) recoments recomends milling corroded bolt face [mistake] 5) refers to tooling that exists nowhere [build from photo]Much better is the book "Mauser M98 & M96 How to build your favorite custom rifle" by R. A. Walsh
Rating: Summary: the book Review: read the book. it was very good. you must understand that you have to read the book first then apply the knowledge. although it does jump around you must understand it is not a step by step build a custom mauser book. but rather understand and know the rifle first, then buy a book which gives you ideas on how you want your mauser to be. it does not give custom stocks and actions and other stuff. that is up to the person and imagination.
Rating: Summary: more than the average owner will ever need Review: This book tells you how to do anything to your mauser that you would ever want to. Complete disassembly, inspection of parts, reassembly, and the best information on rebarreling.
