Rating: Summary: Stunning photography with plenty of information Review: If you like balloons--whether as spectator, crew, or pilot--this is a must-have book. It combines stunning photographs of balloons with well-written chapters containing loads of information presented in a fun and interesting style. Would make a great gift--especially if combined with a hot air balloon ride!
Rating: Summary: Wonderful book! Gorgeous! Review: The photos in this book are worth the price alone. The centerfold of a bunch of balloons in flight is just breathtaking. I'm actually going to use it to paint a mural in my house! If you have a balloonist in your life, or are just very interested yourself, this book is a must-have. I bought it for a child who just loves to sit and look at all the pictures and now, at the age of 3, loves to know all about how they work, etc. It's very educational and interesting to read and very well written too, I might add.
Be sure to grab this book - it's just beautiful and very, very interesting and informative. Besides, your kids will love it!
Rating: Summary: A fine book to give as a gift Review: This book makes a great gift because it is really appreciated, and is priced right. When I first saw it, I thought it looked like a $35 coffee table book. If you have a friend who has any interest in balloons, they should appreciate this book because it gives them lots of insight into this unusual activity.
Rating: Summary: Review from magazine, Ballooning Review: With a cover this beautiful, and a writer this experienced, it would be hard to miss. George Denniston has been flying and writing about balloons for years, and brings all his experience and knowledge to this work. The text follows a predictable pattern, including ancient and recent history, technical aspects, festivals, shapes, instruction and so forth. Denniston, however, brings a new and different twist to each chapter, making sure the text includes tidbits of information not often seen in books of this type. The graphic layout, including the typography, is nothing short of magnificent. Corinda Cook deserves heaps of awards for her efforts. The photography comes from some of the best in the field - Ron Behrmann, Trish Behrmann, Kathleen Andersen, Ben Blass, and others. Their work has appeared frequently on the pages of this publication, as well as ballooning and non-ballooning texts the world over........Ruth Ludwig, Editor, Ballooning
