Rating: Summary: Nice Work, Mr. Konik Review: As a Delta frequent traveler, I look forward to the monthly installment from Michael Konik- so I was more than ready to enjoy this book. My only disappointment was that there was not much in the way of new material. My personal preference goes to the stories concerning unique places and experiences rather than insights into the lives of professionals. Regardless of the subject, I find Mr. Konik's respect for both the game and his own prose rewarding. It is the rare combination of a nose for the right subject and a respect for the people involved that I think help this writer stand out from those that are interested more in preserving their reputations with the pro's. If you have a love of teeing it up on a crisp Fall morning, play with respect for the rules (and do so in less than 4 hours) and love a good story well told- don't miss this book.
Rating: Summary: MUST READ Review: Excellent book about golf for fanatics as well as ignoramuses like me. I liked how Konik reminds us that the high stress of competition and money and stardom don't excuse a rotten attitude on the golf course, or in life in general. The way he describes some golf courses made me want to log onto the Internet to instantly buy an airplane ticket. And the clever chapters -- describing equipment in the style of "Twas the Night Before Christmas" and rewriting the Canterbury Tales to include golf -- were a charming surprise. This is a very touching book that made me laugh as well. A great combination for a sport I used to find sort of boring.
Rating: Summary: Easy Going Review: I've know Mr. Konik from his hacker days when he was tearing up golf courses from California to Calcutta.... He is a great funny writer with a good putting game....oh, and don't play him in poker on the 19th hole or you'll be sorry.
Rating: Summary: Superb Review: If all writing about golf were this good, I'd probably take up the game full time. Tremendous stories told very well. Highly recommended.
Rating: Summary: Easy going and humorous! Review: Konik's sense of humor and easygoing style make this one of the most pleasurable golf books available!
Rating: Summary: A Winner from Michael Konik Review: Michael Konik weaves humor, insight, golf trivia, travel adventure and philosophy into a wonderful set of short stories. You don't have to play or even like golf to enjoy this collection of clever and witty observations about the game of golf and the people who play it. The "hero" of each story might be a world class pro, or a caddie. Konik's ability to capture the moment makes this book a joy to read. Thanks Mike. Waiting for more.

Rating: Summary: He talks the walk Review: Michael Konik writes vith verve and a clarity unsurpassed even in the finest of vintages. His writing is inspirational. Given the opportunity, I would caddy for this fine writer. this book is just the perfect item for a cold winter evening.
Rating: Summary: Smart, funny...I read it in one day! Review: Once again, Michael Konik has allowed me to enjoy subject matter that I normally would not be interested in. This book, like his last ("The Man With the 100,000 Breasts") is written with Mr. Konik's unique voice that manages to find humor in every sentence. I only wish he'd take a stab at fiction!
Rating: Summary: Easy Going Review: Very enjoyable to read one chapter at a time. Like one nice golf hole after another. Funny, touching, educational. Any golfer you know will love this book. Looking forward to more.
