Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Very informative on wild turkey history and hunting
Review: Bland does an excellent job of describing the differences between the four North American wild turkeys, with some photography included. Most illustrations include tips and facts about turkeys. Background history of the wild turkey is given, as well as tips for hunting and various experiences by the author. Every turkey hunter has something to learn from Bland, no matter how experienced.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: An excellent book on the how-to's of turkey hunting.
Review: Easy to read. Author is an experienced hunter and displays his knowledge in a readable and digestible fashion. The book is broken up into chapters concerning specifics (equipment, species, strategy, cleaning and other useful information). With the amount of information recieved from the book, it is a must buy for the price.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: 50% Fact 50% Hunting Stories Great book!
Review: My copy is ruined - all dog eared and highlighted up! I read it cover to cover each spring! (even the parts about the species I don't hunt)

Bland has some strong opinions and counterdicts himself on matters of prefernce and style but you forgive these mis-steps because you can't help but love the old man and his tales. Bland has forgotten more about turkeys than most of us will ever know (actually, now that I think about it, there is probably very little about turkeys that he has forgotten). Read this book carefully and pay attention to the stories - alot of valuable lessons are taught therein; now a days we haven't got time to spend the days afield Bland has, but you can learn from his experiences.

This book is on the required reading list i give to first time hunters before I take them out in the woods. If it were a hard back I'd call it collectible...
