Summary: Will be a classic someday
Review: I've read (& re-read)The Incompleat Angler at least three times. JE paints a picture that puts me in the scene so that I hear the coyotes and feel the wind in the air. If you can read "Gurgle of Great Expectations" and not get weepy, you've never hiked the woods in search of contentment. If you've never dreamed about chucking all the responsibilities to lve on the river, read "Getting Out of Dodge". You'll cheer for our hero. For everyone who has ever held a rod and wondered about things peripheral to the actual fishing - JUST READ IT.

Summary: he is the john gierach of michigan- only better!
Review: Jim Enger captured the essence of Michigan fly fishing conjuring up heartfelt memories of the streams and related occurences as he fished through the years. I felt as if I were he as I progressed through each chapter. I hope he hurries and writes more!

Summary: A must read for the fly fisher!
Review: This is one of the few books that I have ever read that reads as though your listening to a great storyteller working his verbal craft. In my opinion, it's the highest praise that an author can receive. So many try to write in this fashion, but few accomplish it. If you're a fly fisher, this book is a must read.
