Summary: Outstanding "how to" and "preparation for" book.
Review: I purchased this book in advance of an ice-fishing trip to North Dakota a group of us are planning to make in January, 1999. This volume is so thorough, that I just ordered "Hooked on Ice Fishing Volume I" over Amazon.com.

This book saved me from making over $300 in unecessary equipment purchaes. I was thinking about buying a Flasher sonar unit for the trip, but descriptions accompanied by pictures of LCR units in this volume made me realize that one of my current units will work just fine on ice, and now I know how to accurately interpret the signals when the unit is stationary as opposed to moving in a boat.

This is one of the best fishing books I have ever read.
